I went a walk with my friend this afternoon & on our return we sat by the canal with a glass of wine.
Eileens house backs on to the Lancaster canal so they have this little sitting area to sit & watch the world go by......
Three good things:
1. A friend to spend a couple of hours with while our men folk were watching the Grand Pris.
2. I have given Lydia my spare thick tights that were cluttering my drawers up ...she wears them for school.
3. Our daughter in law is coming for two weeks in November to stay with us while she visits her parents.......will be lovely to see her..
What a lovely place to be able to sit! I would get nothing done if I lived here (or at least, even less than I get done now!). A great shot on a sunny autumnal day.
@quietpurplehaze Ones mine Hazel...you probably commented before I got the words up.....a slight error in uploading on my part!!! @bulldog Cheers to you to bulldog!
@suesmith My daughter & son in law lived just along from here when the first go married & that was always a lovely garden....very sociable too as there is a path on the opposite side.
How special to be able to do this - very English with the canals! It must have been a nice day too. I must take a glass of wine and sit by our road and watch the traffic! Might get a few queer looks!
@maggiemae I wished I could have gone over the bridge a little further down & taken a photo of us...we had lots of people waving & shouting hello from across the water!
What a delightful place to sit & dream while the world flows by !! I love sitting by the water --unfortunately I have to go in the car to find such a place ! and then it's not a private & secluded place ' Nice to have a girly chat while the men are elsewhere occupied !! Trust Hazel @quietpurplehaze to spot the double meaning --of course I had to read it for myself & had a big grin !!
Eileen's little area by the canal looks fab Pat, YOur tiny wine looks like quite a big one to me :) ....I remember Eileen , she's appeared in a few of your pics :) ...I think I previously referred to you, Eileen and your friends in one of your pics as "Lancashire finest lasses" :)
@quietpurplehaze Nothing wrong with that Hazel, we have to keep up standards.....texting must be the bane of your life!! I must admit i do do mistakes on here ...seems to be easier to miss spell somehow!
@bulldog Cheers to you to bulldog!
I did, sorry Pat. I cannot help a small smile at the 'double entendre' in the words in your No 2.......
Ooops 'trust Hazel' !!
Pat, it''s those years I spent teaching the English language!! Can't help it - I'm the same with punctuation!
Love the flowers still in full glory!
