Our little vegetable shop in the village has this lovely display of pumpkins all ready to carve.
Three good things:
1. A good brisk walk in the lovely sunshine.
2. No pain in my knees ...just a year ago I started with knee problems but after injections in both I have had no problem for eight months!
3. The last of the home grown cabbage.
what a cute little shop Pat - I love this tie of year with the Pumpkins everywhere! Now what was that injection you had and can I get one for my hip???
@sparkle Cortisone Juliette & it worked a treat. I am sure I damaged my knees doing Callanetics so resting & an injection did the trick...I have only walked for exercise since & it's never been a bit of trouble since ...touch wood. The injection didn't work for Harry though.
The little veg shop, how gorgeous is this? We have nothing in our village except a phone box and post box! Quite fancy opening a shot like this myself.
D-----m wrote & lost it !! What a delightful country store --so clean & bright looking !! Love the display outside with the bright orange pumpkins in contrast to the shop frontage ! This is lovely Pat and reminds me of my mum's village stores at home as a child
Lovely colours - pumpkins and bricks. Good news on the knee. Looks like you might miss the storm - might have to postpone my visit to my mum on Monday - might have to take food parcels as they will be right in line - and my sister has a Gatwick flight planned - oh joy...
What a lovely little shop. It's so nice seeing village shops. We used to run a fruit and veg shop many moons ago when we were first married. I remember that it's really hard work and I was very fit after humping 55lb sacks of potatoes around all day. Great news about your knee.
I don't put a vegie shop in my mind, to look like this! Antiques, yes! Good to see. Those injections don't work on some so good to know they were right for you! Walking is now known to be the best exercise!
@happypat You might have to send food parcels from up north!! We won't get the worst of it I don't think but my mum and sister will - and @quietpurplehaze and @humphreyhippo on the south coast.
@phil_howcroft Turnips were so much harder to carve too ....not sure about the rush , I don't think we British bother that much with Halloween do we? Not much goes on up in this part of the world anyway...might get a few of the kids in the lane trick or treating....must get some sweets in!
I think I would be a twice weekly visitor to this quaint vegetable shop. It looks delightful!
So glad to read that your knees have been pain free, Pat...that certainly makes life sweeter!
What a lovely looking independent shop. I have a passionate dislike of the homogenous globalisation of the old British High St, so it is always refreshing to see something that bucks the trend. Long may it remain.
