My first visit to Leeds city today.
It didn't take us as long as we thought to drive over the M62 & we arrived in plenty of time for a look round before the Speech Therapy welcome talk.
A coach took us to check out some of the accommodation blocks & afterwards we had a meal in Frankie & Bennys before dropping Lydia at the train station. She was visiting a friend at York uni for a few days.
I saw this lone studier sitting on the steps of the Parkinson building.
Please excuse me from commenting tonight....I had no internet for a couple of hours tonight.
Three good things:
1. A lovely day with family.
2. Harry managed breakfast perfectly & unfortunately he had much more to do than planned as I got totally confused by a clock which put itself back by itself & i got up an hour later than I should have done!
3. I should sleep tonight ...it's been a long day!
Super shot -- Sensible student enjoying some fresh air & sunshine !
You sound as if you enjoyed your day in spite of it being tiring Enjoy a good night's rest !
Great shot Pat and super pov. Love all those lines up, down and diagonally! How wonderful to get just one lone student sitting there or did you plant her?!
@fueast Thanks Alison...I thought I had put the correct name...thanks for pointing that out...shattered tonight! I thought of you when going round, we went past the Medical Engineering place next to the old crematorium & it reminded me of you ! Some fantastic buildings & we were impressed with the Met too!
@suesmith It was pretty early in the morning...the time on my camera is an hour out so not many students around at that time on a Sunday morning....it was the first photo I took just as we were walking along.
@guycalledjack Would like to have been straightetr on Jack but took it so quickley as we walked towards it....I was pleased how it came out. Must look for another Cannon 95 missed the smaller camera so much yesterday having to lug that big one round all morning.
Oh yes - fabulous lines and I love that you've put her in the middle of the shot - makes her extra dominated by the surroundings. My sister went to Leeds and my mum was forever packing blankets and shovels and emergency soup when we went to collect her at Christmas!
a well deserved PP Pat, love the textures, tones and the lone student....have you thought of a little crop on the left hand side of the frame, so that the white sky is cropped out...it gives the image even more umphhhhh...honest it does ...try putting your hand across the left hand side to mask out the sky.
BTW: Hows your experiment of shooting in RAW going...are you still a RAW person?
@phil_howcroft I did wonder how much more to crop it Phil...I have already cropped quite a bit off the left hand side including quite a few more steps. I thought it quite messy on that side as there were cars & another building in sight but didn't want to take too much away from the solitude of the student ...the bigger the space the more impact she had.....I do like it without any sky but was nervous about cropping too much. Thank s so much for your input.
As for RAW I have never looked back & still shoot that way. Not sure if my photos are any better but feel there is less.noise in them.
