Back to the little shops for todays post.
A rather pretty little antique shop on the High St. in Garstang.
As I was taking this photo I noticed the guy inside looking at me....you can just see him through the open door, so thought I had better just go & check if it was OK & I wasn't anyone official.
He looked rather put out & unhappy so I was rather over apologetic & effusive in my thanks but thought that's one shop I wouldn't go back in to buy!
The steps at the side of the building are put there so that ladies can mount their horses in the days when that was the main form of transport.
Three good things:
1. Bacon & Mushroom melt & a glass of red.
2. An afternoon at the movies seeing Captain Phillips with Tom Hanks.....we actually went to see Blue Jasmine but it wasn't on any-more....it couldn't have been better than this one..all about a true story of Somalia Piracy...I totally recommend it!
3. Looking forward to David Tennant in The Escape Artist tonight on TV.
Well he should be very thrilled with this super shot which is a great advert for his shop! The riding blocks remind me that one of the hunt ladies today was riding side-saddle in full dress, she looked fabulous!
I can't believe that he would object...it is a great advertisement for him! IT was nice that you went in to explain, but technically, if you are on the street and not on private property, it is supposed to be ok...at least it is here
Agree it's a bit odd he'd be bothered about you snapping the shopfront - not like you were spying on anything private! I like the mounting block: no risk of immodesty with that!
It amazes me when people are grumpy about photos being taken. Perhaps it is the guys normal persona! Ben went to see Captain Phillips last night and loved it. I hope to get to see it sometime soon!!
A charming shop! Too bad the proprietor wasn't as charming. :( I love the old mount steps! A bacon and mushroom melt sounds delicious...I've never had one...but I certainly plan to. I've heard that 'Captain Phillips' is great!

I agree that he should be pleased for getting an advert!
Pat, your day sounds great (apart from disgruntled shop owners!)
