I think this photo would have been much better taken from the other end...I was disappointed to see the clutter at the far end around this guys head...should have been a cleaner image. Other than that I did like the floor & the way the chap is sitting reading his mobile phone...they get everywhere those mobiles!
Taken in the art gallery in the Harris in Preston.
Three good things:
1. My hair done today thank goodness.
2. Harry has bought me another heater for the office. When we moved here we partitioned part of the very large utility room into an office to do the farm accounts. unfortunately we left the radiator in the main bit so my office has never had any heat in it. It really put me off leaving the lovely warm fire to go & comment on 365!!!
3. Some good books recommended by like minded 365ers...I have started one already.
Love the textures and lines in the floor. They lead right to that chap so I don't see a problem with this shot at all. As you say a deeper reflection might have been desirable but this still works really well.
I think the lines, light, edit, composition are fabulous. It is too bad the "stuff" is right behind his head. Do you use Lightroom? If so, I have an idea for you
I really like the floor leading into the man also your processing. I wonder if your pov was a bit lower the mans head might have been above the clutter? but you may have lost the beautiful floor then??
To be honest my focus is all on that gorgeous floor and the leading lines - it's quite a striking image. Glad you've got a heater now - I think I'm going to have dig mine out of the cupboard soon so I can work without frozen fingers!
What great lines. Your choice of the sepia tones works really well to diminish what you call clutter. Funny all the artwork around him and he is oblivious because of his mobile!!!
I think your eye is getting more and more artistic! The very fact you noticed the "clutter" around the head means that you have become critical in an artistic way! Should I bow or maybe genuflect in front of your name!.... Lol, I do,like your composition!
That floor is amazing! I'm a big fan of the Harris - I spent a lot of time in there in my teenage years with my friend Monica, just browsing around the exhibits. It had some really good art exhibitions as well. Actually we may have been a bit nerdy because we went to London on a school trip supposedly to go to the Nat Hist Museum (I think) - Monica and went straight up to the Wellcome Wing and spent ages browsing the weird medical exhibits. When we emerged we discovered that everybody else, including the teachers, had spent 5 min and then gone shopping!
@judithg Well I think you two showed exemplary call to education & the museums in London are fascinating ...my trip to the Science Museum when I was eleven still lives in my memory but I can't remember going shopping!
