Our adventurous eldest granddaughter who lives in NZ on holiday on South Island.
She has taken to NZ life like a duck to water after emigrating almost five years ago with her twin brother, parents & dog Izzy.
Just starting her third & final year at Lincoln University, Christchurch where for the last three years she has been lucky enough to obtain a NZ Dairy Scholarship.
Another four weeks to go on placement at a beef & sheep farm she is ready to finish studying & get back to milking cows which is her passion in life.
All Alex wants in life is her own herd of cows!!
Looking forward to seeing her & her brother William when I go over in February.
I obviously didn't take this photo but as I will be starting year four next month I thought I can bend the rules...if there are any rules that is!!
Three good things:
1. All the decorations down.
2. A walk along the river bank to see the very high tide & luckily it hasn't come over the top!
3. Found & ordered some cheap Brasher walking boots in the sale for Max. Down from £49 to £15.....
Nearly forgot....so many thank yous for all the lovely comments & faves on yesterdays picture....I was flabbergasted as I didn't rate it so high...just shows how you can be wrong.
I have never had as many faves on one photo...was very exciting ....bless you all!
Your grand daughter sounds fantastic, my kinda girl! Must be tough for you being such a way away but makes it all the more special when you visit. Year 4? Unbelievable, 365 must be a way of life for you now!
It was lovely to read all about your family in NZ. We are flying to Christchurch on Jan 14th, travelling around the South island for 5 weeks then returning Feb 22nd. Who knows - we might bump into each other! Good luck to Alex.
@busylady Wouldn't that be great Judith...should give you my mobile number before you go ....would be annoying if we were a few miles apart & missed each other! I will be in North Island the whole time, we are going to the Coromandel on the 18th for a few days but otherwise will be around the Hamilton & Raglan area. Meeting up with a couple of 365ers whilst I am there. Are you on FB ?
Alex will make one gorgeous dairy farmer! How wonderful that she knows exactly what she wants to do in life...and that she loves it. She's bound to be very happy and successful. I know you are looking forward to seeing all of your NZ grandchildren next month!!
She certainly will fit in to a dairy life in NZ- they have gone mad with dairy cattle replacing all the sheep now - well, not all of them! Holidays are so good here too - as you know!
Fabulous! Isn't it lovely that she is passionate about what she wants to do and I'm sure Harry will be very proud that she is following in his footsteps....and her dad!!!
