Two British icons. by happypat

Two British icons.

Two very familiar shops on the British High Street....Boots the Chemist & good old M&S.
Not your usual high street here though but beautiful Glasgow Central Station.
Fabulous buildings I think you will agree!

I came back to a completely new home page on 365......takes a little getting used to but I do like the large photos. Am a little concerned that it will take longer to comment & keep up as not as many pictures to see all in one go.
I dare say we will get used to it all & the little problems ironed out....good that the site is continually improving & moving on.

Three good things:
1. Egg sandwiches on the back row of the cinema .....A Long Way Down today...it was OK.
2. Skipping is improving all the time.
3. Catch Up TV.
Great capture - the guy on the right looks very determined about something, like someone from an animated film!

Lovely shot Pat. I am glad I wasn't sat in front of you at the cinema if you were eating egg sandwiches!

Beautiful capture Pat , I love those buildings with the richness of the dark mahogany woodwork and the small paned windows .The figures walking to & fro reminds me of a Lowery painting !!

Pat, great shot! Egg sandwiches on the back row of the cinema? That's a new one! I note you've already made the comment about the new site layout that I just made to you!

A great capture. I love the dark mahogany woodwork and the small windows. It would be good to sit up there and watch the people. Egg sandwiches Yummy!!

I've seen a few pics of Glasgow station Pat and it is indeed a superb building. Many of our stations were amazing buildings. Bolton Trinity Street had a fantastic station front , red bricks and tiles.....they knocked it down ...progress

This is fab, just a tiny crop to remove that left hand side of the frame light that catches the eye

What a lovely pavement! Looks so inviting to just wander along these interesting shops! I remember being here 30 or 40 years ago getting the train to Lake Oich! Egg sandwiches are my favourite!

Nice job at capturing all the activity, and great lighting

I do like a stylish station, this is lovely. Windsor is one of my favourites and we have a disused station in Richmond, North Yorks that is converted is to an artisan shopping centre.

Two of my favourite shops in the UK. I just love the smell of Boots Chemist just before Christmas. Must go back there one day. It will probably be totally different now though.

Have you been to see 'The Monuments Men'...
I would to spend some time shopping here. Getting a bit obsessed with hats and scarves at moment. Cool weather just started so had a 4 degree morning to wake up to today. Still gorgeous day though😊

I agree Pat, Glasgow Station is a bit of a gem with these old wooden framed buildings. Lovely shot of them.

I'm not at all sure about the new 365 homepage. My photos aren't designed to be seen large!

That's a beautiful photo and it is a beautiful place! So nice to see the traditional refreshed but still full of character.
