Horse in field. by happypat

Horse in field.

A terrible title!!!

A miserable wet day so am falling back on my weekend away photos again.
This was the field in front of our hotel.......I am not used to seeing rape fields around our fields here as we are mostly dairy farms so I am always drawn to the fabulous colour.

Three good things:
1. Red legged partridge coming to the bird table.
2. Have had all the dead flies stuck on my car washed off.
3. Delicious sweet green seedless grapes.
Definitely the rape flowers give a beautiful vibrant touch to the capture. The horse is in a perfect place for the composition.

Vibrant yellow still - I've missed getting a shot of it here and now it's all faded!!

That's a posh bird to visit! Lovely photo Pat - loads of rape fields round here and not enough sheep!

Lovely photo. Love the glossy horse. As for your title - it's perfectly adequate. I went to the Picasso museum while in Barcelona and most of his pictures had mundane titles like 'girl with book'. I called one of my recent ones 'man in hat with cigarette'!

At least the rape fields provide a bright backdrop for the horse --He looks a beauty -- and I forgot to buy grapes this morning while shopping !

Very pretty rural scene; I love the smell of the rapeseed fields, quite like rapeseed oil too, we have a lemon flavoured one locally so yummy!

The horse stands out so beautifully against the rapeseed field - wonderful.
I think of you often when I'm having a moment of missing Lotto.

@jocasta thank you Jocasta....yes I feel for you...you will be finding the house very quiet. Amazing how much company dogs are even though they never say a word! Will you have another do you think?

... but WHAT a field it is :)

@happypat We have a friend's Labrador, Betty, staying with us at the moment - has been such a help. After 35 years of Labradors we don't think we're having another one. We hope to be able to look after Betty quite often. What about you?

How super to have a hotel set in the country like this! I think I did see where you were staying and meant to look it up! Nice DOF for the yellow streak, the hills and the horse!

@jocasta I can't see Harry being without a dog Jocasta but will leave it for a bit. I am not as keen as we find it a terrible tie when we go to NZ to see our sons. Harry has been known not to go because of the dogs but I would like to go for a bit longer than a month & it's a dreadful long time to ask someone to mind them. We could do a dog share with daughter & family ...might be an option but will have to see. Might like not having the responsibility of another dog! Saw a photo of your lovely Lotto. Looked so like our lovely Jenny!
