Lunch out with friends today, boiled egg for supper tonight!!
Our local Inn goes from strength to strength and is a very upmarket looking place. An ambitious couple who own it, they have extended and renovated the whole place in the last few years and it looks just fabulous.
Quirky and different with lots of fascinating pictures and individual 'stuff' which makes it a pleasure to visit.
We are so lucky to have somewhere on our doorstep like that & so friendly too, just a great atmosphere.
Three good things:
1. Guardian Eyewitness; great daily photo on iPad with Exif.
2. A really easy to read book but with a gripping tale called 'Before We Met' by Lucy Whitehouse. Cheap on Kindle.
3. My knee is slightly better today.
Out village pub has just been taken over; so far so brilliant, it has really brought the village together. I like this, shows a sense of humour.
What did you do to your knee? I know I probably know so do feel free to ignore
Love the angel propped up against the bottle and fab picture. How did you get your exif info? Pray tell .......... Lucky tomhave such a wonderful quirky and cosy looking pub :-)
@lucypics Jack put me on the Guardian app....when the daily photo comes up you can press the info button & it usually tells you the camera, ISO etc...not always but quite a few. Brilliant photos too aren't they?
Glad the knee is improving. This looks a lovely place - you are definitely lucky to have a good pub. The picture is hilarious! Shed will be fine - it's 'bespoke' with two halves - one for bikes and one for tools and it's the bike half that is a bit tight for size. Initially they offered to reduce it to the price that they would have charged for a smaller one anyway so I wasn't impressed by that & we decided they could remake it. Then they said 6-8 weeks for another one and that would be all summer with a huge tent on the lawn (with shed contents inside) so I told them a much lower figure to keep the current one and they agreed. Hope it's the right decision!
@happypat oh yes - definitely theirs - I panicked in case the dimensions included the roof overhang or something but no - I said to the lads that I had had to move a flag so that the base was big enough and then they put a base down that was 6" smaller!
@happypat the lads who built it told me they had had 20% increase in sales every month since the middle of 2011 so I think they probably have too much work - but ours is such an unusual design you'd think they'd have double checked!
@claireuk I half fell of a chair while shutting the Velux window in the top bedroom Claire....I have ordered a pole since so no more mishaps. My shoulder is worse today...I have 'ironing ' shoulder ha ha!
