Quit an enjoyable evening last night though not the best of weather.
Took us just an hour to drive& it was raining hard...would much preferred to have stayed at home watching the tennis.
About sixty people turned up for the treasure tramp. No actual treasure just a list of clues you had to try & solve as you walked around the farm.
We were useless as usual........the two men lagged behind looking at all the farm equipment etc not helping with any of the clues. The same every year!
Fantastic hot pot supper & apple pie washed down with tea or coffee.
We left before the results...no chance of us winning & it was eleven o'clock before we got in anyway.
Fantastic Yorkshire scenery as you can see....not too far from the route of today's Tour De France.
Three good things:
1. I found my glasses I thought I had lost in the field.
2. Cathy & Lydia are coming with chicken kebabs tonight, Garth is away up Buttertubs watching the cycling.
3. We have treated Lily for itchy ears, she seems much better today.
There's nothing worse than itchy ears! Well you sound a bit underwhelmed but the men look like they're having a lovely time. Love that broody sky and it brings out the greens.
@judithg thanks Judith...it was a cold wet evening not raining hard but drizzly stuff......the farm was high up...fabulous countryside. Lily is feeling better. @gerry thank you Gerry !
Sounds like a great evening and mouth watering at the sound of supper. Could do with that here tonight as it's rather chilly but better not say a word. Allan got lobster at the fish man's van this morning and is getting it all ready right now!
Another lovely shot.. sounds like our man over here.. more interested in machinery etc.. my Yorkshire blood is hankering for seeing this for my self...
Do you mean you left to go home after 11pm? That would have been late getting into bed! Looks like a lovely place to wander and meet up with friends. Lots of exercise and conversation!
Brilliant, typical men. We went out with friends a couple of days ago and the men lagged behind so much we nearly lost them on the sand dunes at Birubi.
Love the idea of a treasure tramp, we did one in Cyprus once and it was great fun.
Where in Yorkshire is this? I was born in Yorkshire and I remember low skies.
@phil_howcroft yes usually true but I did have to make an effort & look interested in answering some questions Phil, I was more interested in the scenery though!
@gerry thank you Gerry !
