Straw stubble by happypat

Straw stubble

A walk in the fields this afternoon, lying on the ground & trying to go manual. I am pretty sure this is one of my manual shots . I did swop about a bit & tried to remember which I had shot in manual.
It didn't help that I had forgotten my glasses!
On the whole I was quite pleased seeing as how I had forgotten all the buttons....must read up the manual again!

Three good things:
1. Good health ...brought home to us very sharply last night.
2. Experimenting with my camera.
3. Glad rags on tonight, out to a big 50th Wedding anniversary meal.
Great pov! And blue skies!

Bet that was a bit prickly lying amongst that. Love the feeling of space and the blue of the sky.

What a great shot, Pat! Well done on manual.
Going manual really is a lot of fun and I find it brings a whole new element to photography!
Please check out another one of my rodeo shots. I posted it on my Altered States album and it only got 2 hits. I am really please with it! It's at: http://365project.org/farmreporter/altered-states/2014-08-24

Fantastic photo - love your low POV.

Wow - fantastic focus and exposure - especially with no glasses! Dreadful day down here - didn't bother going to look for my poppy at The Tower because it was chucking it down.

this is lovely pat, a super POV and the colours are vibrant, almost retro film in nature. When you say you shot in manual, do you mean you manually focussed the shot OR did you manually set the aperture, ISO and shutter speed?
There's 'manual focussing' and 'manual exposure' , the term manual normally refers to the latter :)
Top marks for experimenting :)

How low can you go! In this case it is just right and the focus on the straw is really good! Congrats on the PP!

@phil_howcroft well I put the wheel on manual then just adjusted the F thing & the speed thing & bobs your uncle! It looked right looking through the view finder & I clicked! Nothing to it LOL !

@happypat ooooh clever you, in the olden days they used to have a light meter that you pointed at the scene to get your settings, some pro's still do :-). Light meters pre dates me, but i can remember my dad using them and i used to like messing about with his meter . Happy days
