Fish for tea by happypat

Fish for tea

A perfect way for these fishermen to spend a late summer day, fishing off the North Pier Blackpool.
I had a little chat to a couple & they said it was better in the winter but they had caught some plaice & a few dabs.
Getting out from under the wife's feet was the way one of the described it!
In the distance you can see Central Pier & beyond South Pier.
I must thank you all so much for getting my Straw stubble photo on the PP ..a place I haven't been to in months!!! I appreciate every comment & fave specially as I was out all evening.

Three good things:
1. A clean bill of health after my gall bladder op.
2. Winter clothes in the shops!
3. An M&S food shop.
Like how you've processed this - it's quite timeless.

Beautiful composition with the expanse of moody water.
Love the sepia processing on this shot. Like Jocasta says - quite timeless.

Blackpool's still got it. Nice vintage feel

You've caught the camaraderie between the casual fishermen nicely! What an excuse - from under 'her indoors" feet! I bet fishermen take up this so called sport just to be by themselves!

Absolutely FANTASTIC Pat, this is post processed wonderfully. It looks like a retro shot from the 50's / 60's (well apart from the Big One on the horizon !). Nevertheless , it is simply stunning , FAVED.

Do you get the impression I like it :)

This portrays perfectly the English seaside, with those fishermen and the pier. Love the processing.

The tones are lovely - is it B&W or just looks that way? I like the sentiment about getting out from under the wife's feet. Glad to hear about your gall bladder all-clear.

The sepia tones work very nicely!

So much to study here--a roller coaster in the distance, the ironic sign "family bar," the sunlit water all the way to the horizon, the sepia processing, and of course, the subject/story in the foreground.

Great candid shot

What a great shot, it really tells a story and nice processing too. I just love plaice and we don't get them here. Mind you we do get plenty of other nice fish though.
