I met a friend I hadn't seen for over ten years today....it was as if we had seen each other the week before!
A bit of lunch in the garden centre & a good old natter for a three hours & only a couple of photos to show for it!
A wonky Christmas tree in the background!
Three good things :
1. A lovely chat with an old friend.
2. Custard slices.
3. Laughing at funny birthday cards.
A delightful scene --isn't it great to meet up with old friends -- recently I met up with an ex colleague and friend who had become a Xmas card & birthday card Now we have renewed our friendship by meeting for lunch once a month or as near as we can ! It doesn't feel as if we have been apart at all !!
Custard slices. Oh I love custard slices. Really like custard slices. Might have to buy some tomorrow. Meet up with the girl I shared a room and house with when went to Uni, not seen her since her wedding day 10 years ago, it was like you as though it was only yesterday since we had seen her.
Any date scones nowadays?? John's favourite but not mine - rather have a good cheese roll! Lovely bright picture with its wonky Christmas tree and good to have the three hours to spend with your friend!
Goodness a bit early for the xmas tree... Great to meet up with an old friend and carry on.. Custard slice would of been Georges choice.. mine a lemon slice/tart
I think I would be spoilt for choice in a bakery. Christmas trees already. Oh dear. They seem to start displaying Christmas things earlier and earlier each year. they will be starting at Easter soon.
@julzmaioro funny Julz, my first choice was a lemon meringue pie but you had to help yourself & I couldn't get it onto the cake server....first slice out & it was awkward so plumped for the custard slice.
@happypat I'm from West Cumbria, our nearest Dobies is Carlisle 65 miles away. So good to have a good old catch up, where would we be without our friends?
That's officially the first Christmas tree I have seen/heard of this year. I generally think that anything earlier than December is a bit ridiculous. Early October is AWFUL. Judith's right - you should have pushed it over in protest.
@countrylassie well you might as well come to our Barton Grange then.....much nicer & warmer! Could meet up one day if you are down this end of the northwest!
