Lake Windermere was looking at its best yesterday, a lovely day with blue skies & the trees just beginning to turn.
Loved the row of red boats lined up, I have never seen them before, something red is always a bonus I reckon!!
Three good things:
1. Friendship......been out to lunch with the 'girls'.
2. A telephone call from our absent friend from the top of the London Eye....she was sipping champagne too!
3. A really good nights sleep, I never woke once!
Great shot .. and always a bonus to get red in a shot.. Have heard about this lake seems to be one of those 'must see's' I'll put it on the bucket list..
Pat this is gorgeous love the pov and a super shot Isn't it great when the sun shines and the water reflects all that blue .A great detail in the foreground boats and then a pop of red to take the eye a little further . All I can say --I wish I was there A definite fav
Thank you all so much...I have been catching up all night, didn't realise til I scrolled down how many of your shots I have missed over the last couple of days!! How fast one can soon get complete,y out of the loop!
Much obliged that you still commented on mine!
@claireuk oh dear you too Claire? I am a very erratic sleeper these days....was up til 3.30am the night before but last night slept all through....might not be the same tonight though. It's amazing I find if I comment on a photo in the night someone will answer me back straight away.....it's very comforting 'talking' to someone in another country in the middle of the night! Sorry you are awake too. Must be an age thing, I have stopped worrying about it, come downstairs, have a cup of tea & read. If I'm tired next day so be it!
@happypat Yeah, I tend to do similar, drives the cat mad as I don't let her out of the conservatory where she sleeps. I then take the tea and play Sudoku, until tired
Looks as romantic as it sounds. The red boats are perfect … just as you need a yellow spot for a garden, you need a red spot for a cracking good waterscape.
I slept like a log last night - Nigel away & Adam away and I was well away!! Such a lovely scene. It will be at it's peak in a couple of weeks I imagine - I remember going one October half term with mum and dad and the views from Hawkshead were amazing.
Great composition with those boats all lined up ready to sail on the lake. The red really pops out and the wooden boats too. They look inviting. Nice light everywhere.
