Queuing for the ferry by happypat

Queuing for the ferry

So many large swans, geese & seagulls all living fairly happily together on the lakeside. Of course they are very well fed by the tourists & consequently very tame.
A big bed change day today & all rooms full tonight & the rest of the week...only one person in each room but that's fine.
A local dog trial competion over the next couple of days so we also have three vans with dogs in sleeping here too.

Three good things:
1. Cathys birthday today so a very good thing she is in our lives. She is on holiday in Kos so having a lovely day.
2. Finished my book by Penny Vincenzi....I didn't think it was quite as well written as her past books but an excellent story line as usual....I was up in the night reading it.
3. A man has been arrested over the attempted theft of the Eric Morecambe statue in Morecambe's sea front....they sawed tthrough his leg....vandalism!
Would you believe sawing through the leg! Glad all rooms in use. This is a great shot. I love the birds in the foreground

Lovely composition and shot, the caption total fits the bill or beak, er no pun intended! Beautiful capture of the light on the water and the ferry boat itself.
Have been given The Decision by PV, is this the one u read? Have read all her books. Why would anyone steal this? Such a shame to vandalise this tribute to great comedian,. Have actually seen this statue on a long ago visit.

Love this. It reminds me of the family holiday there, a swan stole Josh's ice cream, he was about 3, he winged about it for hours. I didn't hear about poor old Eric losing his leg, glad they caught him, what on earth were they hoping to gain??

Great shot Pat - so many things to see. I like shots where you don't know whether to look at the foreground or the background. And look at those autumn colours! Happy birthday to Cathy and thank goodness for the arrest - we can't have Eric legless!

@judithg no indeed Judith, poor Eric! The prom looks odd without him!
@debbie3108 those birds are so tame they are frightening I think......just think what a size they are to a young child!

Nice shot and good news re rooms being full. As for Eric that is awful, how about an eye for an eye a leg for a leg.

Poor Eric! I hadn't seen you pictures before and I love them. I grew up in Morecambe many, many years ago and also lived in Windermere for a while so they bring back so many memories. Love this picture. Fav and follow

Great shot.. busy time for the BB.. why would any one want to steel a statue of Eric Morecombe.. idiots.. bit like the one that stole a bronze eel from the Bot Gardens in Auckland and then took it to the scrap yard to cash up...

The water looks so calm and reflective here - makes a very pretty scene, well shot! What sort of dogs - if the B&Bers all have dogs they will get on with each other and you won't have to say a word!

@maggiemae Mostly gun dogs maggimae ...three of them golden retrievers .& I think the others are labs. All in the same competition. Yes there will be plenty of chat at breakfast although they spend ages messing with the dogs, feeding, walking etc before breakfast at 7.30am.
