Euston Station this morning at rush hour.....everyone watching the departures board for their train details. Not something I would like to do every morning but exciting when you aren't used to it!
A very quick fleeting visit to London after someone offered me a ticket to see a recording of All Star Family Fortunes.
I never realised how very hard the crew worked & I take my hat off to them....the warm up man was just amazing & made the whole thing very enjoyable.
Not a show I have watched very often but will have to look at myself when the time comes!
My first evening at home for four nights so I am abysmally behind with all of my everyday life & my thanks to you all for still commenting on my project.
Three good things:
1. I lost my car park ticket but didn't have to pay anymore & they took my word for how long I had been parked...still £15 so not cheap!
2. Good to see London again & back again next week.
3. The end of the hurricane Gonzalo is passing over without too much damage.
I now realise that the gate for the train is not put up till 20 minutes before departure. Then its all mad dashing to get there and on the train before it pulls out? Right? Gonzalo was over the Caribbean lately where my son was stuck with airport closures.
@barrowlane There was Ranja Singh, Fabrice M can't remember his name but the footballer who died on the pitch, Helen Skelton & Daniel O' Donnell. Quite a few more celebrities there too including Mark Wright who is taking part in Strictley at the moment. It was. Very entertaining I must say!
this is so different from what I expected. When we were just in Milan and needed to catch the train, I had no idea that is how we were supposed to do it...I was asking everyone in sight to help me find my platform....then realized that I had to find it on that board....wow, what a system...but it is how it works...just had to learn it. almost missed our train
@maggiemae yes sometimes it gets fairly late on when the platform comes up......ours said the number & then had boarding up so we had to move quickly specially as we were in coach A which was the full length of the platform.
@vickisfotos I thought all stations had notice boards like this Vicki....works very well but people do look funny all standing there with their heads up!
Ooh I must try this angle at King's Cross. I used to like Euston when the signs used to all flip over - you got a satisfying noise that you don't get with digital. I rather like Vernon Kay!
oooh I love the reportage feel to this Pat. It's nice to see a transport hub picture too. I miss Juliette and her pictures of airports, tubes and stations @sparkle. Might look pretty cool in mono !
Oh and Vernon Kay is a Bolton lad and a Wanderer too :). Took his wife to the Wanderers on his honeymoon :)
I love this...wanted to get a shot of the crowds under the board at platform 18 at Victoria but not had the nerve. But always thought it would make a good one. Must try get one in before I leave London in December.
