Watching

Euston Station this morning at rush hour.....everyone watching the departures board for their train details. Not something I would like to do every morning but exciting when you aren't used to it!
A very quick fleeting visit to London after someone offered me a ticket to see a recording of All Star Family Fortunes.
I never realised how very hard the crew worked & I take my hat off to them....the warm up man was just amazing & made the whole thing very enjoyable.
Not a show I have watched very often but will have to look at myself when the time comes!

My first evening at home for four nights so I am abysmally behind with all of my everyday life & my thanks to you all for still commenting on my project.

Three good things:
1. I lost my car park ticket but didn't have to pay anymore & they took my word for how long I had been parked...still £15 so not cheap!
2. Good to see London again & back again next week.
3. The end of the hurricane Gonzalo is passing over without too much damage.
Great candid capture that shows the commuters in rush hour.

October 21st, 2014
Great shot but as you say not something I would want to do regularly.
October 21st, 2014
It looks just a little too tense for me. Glad you enjoyed your trip!
October 21st, 2014
Great candid. I like the wide crop.

This is a neat 'people' image. You can feel the sense of business - suits, ties, formal dress - even the stature and coffees add to it.
October 21st, 2014
Great shot. Love how well it shows the busy lives we lead these days.
October 21st, 2014
I like the wide angled scene. They do all look a little bit zombified! Like me when I'm waiting at kings cross
October 21st, 2014
Great shot everyone in their own worlds...
October 21st, 2014

I love this image ..... there is movement in it yet it looks as if time has frozen. A big fav for me :D

I now realise that the gate for the train is not put up till 20 minutes before departure. Then its all mad dashing to get there and on the train before it pulls out? Right? Gonzalo was over the Caribbean lately where my son was stuck with airport closures.

So fun seeing all the heads upturned this way!
October 21st, 2014
very atmospheric, looks like a scene from an art movie. fav
October 21st, 2014
Liverpool Street is just the same! I love the concentration and sense of a common purpose!
October 21st, 2014
Very cool! I love how they are all staring up! It's like they are in a trance.
October 21st, 2014
I do like these sort of shots, there is so much good detail in all the faces and the wide angle enhances the pov greatly. Fav.
October 21st, 2014
Love this has to be a Fav! Who were the families on the recording you saw?
October 21st, 2014
@barrowlane There was Ranja Singh, Fabrice M can't remember his name but the footballer who died on the pitch, Helen Skelton & Daniel O' Donnell. Quite a few more celebrities there too including Mark Wright who is taking part in Strictley at the moment. It was. Very entertaining I must say!

Your shot intrigues me. Each of those people with their own agenda. Fabulous street shot. Fav'd.

this is so different from what I expected. When we were just in Milan and needed to catch the train, I had no idea that is how we were supposed to do it...I was asking everyone in sight to help me find my platform....then realized that I had to find it on that board....wow, what a system...but it is how it works...just had to learn it. almost missed our train
October 22nd, 2014
I wonder if they 'see' each other. Great shot of life
October 22nd, 2014
@maggiemae yes sometimes it gets fairly late on when the platform comes up......ours said the number & then had boarding up so we had to move quickly specially as we were in coach A which was the full length of the platform.
October 22nd, 2014
@vickisfotos I thought all stations had notice boards like this Vicki....works very well but people do look funny all standing there with their heads up!
October 22nd, 2014
I love this shot, it has a very science fiction feel to it. Very Close Encounters
October 22nd, 2014
I would not enjoy that either, but for many it is a way of life
October 22nd, 2014
Clever point of view .......I hate rushing for trains but my stations are usually on a much smaller scale!
October 22nd, 2014
This shot demonstrates the term "rat-race" very well! Did it for 14 years, seriously glad I don't do it anymore! Great shot - fav
October 22nd, 2014
Ooh I must try this angle at King's Cross. I used to like Euston when the signs used to all flip over - you got a satisfying noise that you don't get with digital. I rather like Vernon Kay!
October 22nd, 2014
Caught the feel of the "what platform is it on" so well. Good shot.
October 22nd, 2014
oooh I love the reportage feel to this Pat. It's nice to see a transport hub picture too. I miss Juliette and her pictures of airports, tubes and stations @sparkle. Might look pretty cool in mono !
Oh and Vernon Kay is a Bolton lad and a Wanderer too :). Took his wife to the Wanderers on his honeymoon :)
October 22nd, 2014
@judithg oooh yes used to love that noise judith :)
October 22nd, 2014
@judithg @phil_howcroft I like Vernon Kay now too...I was impressed with his professionalism....more to,that show than meets the eye!
October 22nd, 2014
smashing
October 22nd, 2014
well, since we don't ride trains around here very often, it was new for me to see it this way.
October 23rd, 2014
I love this...wanted to get a shot of the crowds under the board at platform 18 at Victoria but not had the nerve. But always thought it would make a good one. Must try get one in before I leave London in December.
October 26th, 2014
Like the guy moving at the left of frame too :)
