I had chance to sit outside in the sun with my book today. The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. I finished in one day! On to The Wedding now which follows on very nicely. I haven't read any of his books before but after seeing the movie The Longest Ride thought I would try him especially after @maggiemae & other 365ers recommended. Just a lovely love story & light reading after A God in Ruins.
This naughty hen belongs to our neighbours but is the only one left after the fox has got her friends. She almost lives at our house & gloats at our hens through the fence.
I double booked the double en suite tonight by mistake. A misunderstanding about a guy who booked in as a single although he said he would like the double, I put him in the twin last night but apparently he has a friend coming tonight. I said to push the beds together but I notice this morning he hasn't left any personal stuff at all anywhere.....might have done a bunk!!
I know exactly where he is tomorrow at the dog show....might take a visit if he doesn't appear tonight!
Watch this space!
Three good things:
1. A quiet day.
2. Talked to Anthony this morning.
3. The roses are at their best just now & look lovely with the lavender.
Love this. Ant's sister had a beautiful old cottage with low windows in the kitchen and the hens used to hop on to the window sills and into the kitchen!. Hope you sort out your problem guest! Must try your books
thanks for the book suggestions. When I get home I will be indulging in some quiet reading time. I love "chooks" as we call them. Perhaps she needs to join your family permanently
A sweet shot Pat --poor hen left all alone --I am sure she would be much happier in the company of yours ( if only your neighbour agreed !! ) Hope your lodger will turn up for you !! or I can imagine you parading around the show ring tomorrow !! Hope you will catch up with him !! scoundrel !!
Great photo. ....so nice to have sunshine at last. I was weeding Dad's garden at 8.30 as it was too nice to have a long lie. Glorious evening when we were driving home after being down at one of the seaboard villages not far away.
Hope I get some reading in the sun dsys soon. One more week to go!
Glad to hear the end of this story! Its a worry as to whether to do anything about it. Beautiful big hen - hope she behaves herself on that nice table! The Notebook was a film too - a beautiful movie.!
Ha ha, cheeky hen. I guess she thinks she is safer on your property. Good to hear your lodger turned up and you didn't have to give him a clip around the ear.
I love this wonderful shot of the interloper. She must feel much safer at your house. Marvelous shot, Pat! Delightful three good things. I love lavender.
The B&B is all safely tucked up in bed!! He arrived with his money in his hand about 7.15pm ....I take it all back, bless him!!
Hope I get some reading in the sun dsys soon. One more week to go!
