A long walk this morning, I find a Monday is my quietest day as I don't normally have many in on a Sunday evening. Full up last night but they are all staying on so only a tidy up.
The fog cleared by the time I set off & the sun was shining beautifully.
Five miles of briskish walk with an apple to eat on the journey.
This is the west end of Great Eccleston, the right end if Harry & I ever downsize to the village.
Three good things:
1. An article in the morning paper explained the correct way to walk for the most benefit, I practiced it this morning! No plonking down of the foot, heal first & then go peel the rest of the foot off the ground.
2. I met lots of dog walkers one of whom said to me 'good morning flower'
3. The familiar smell of the cows as I walked past a farm...made me quite nostalgic!
@carolmw@judithg@pamknowler@deliad Thank you all ladies....it was time consuming Judith & I won't have time tomorrow to do as long but I was tired when I got back.. Never seems as long somehow when I'm walking with friends on our monthly walking day..more talking & slower walking but the day goes quicker!
I thought of you today when buying milk. Bought some new more expensive milk in morrisons that claims more of it goes to the farmers... I hope it does and they get what they deserve. The mist remained here all day so no sun for us.
@newbank well done Ruth for buying the milk! I know how hard it is to spend more money on something exctly the same as something right next to it which is cheaper! Even I am not good at that sometimes! I haven't been in a Morrisons lately but they have the same system at Booths.
Beautiful village scene. Not sure David and I could ever downsize, we have too many toys and interests, we wouldn't have enough space to fit everything in if we had a smaller house.
@onewing By small I'm talking no,less than three bedrooms Babs....seven is far too many for music now if we don't do B&B! I don't want to do that for the rest of my life!! We do,like it here though but would like not to have to get the car out if we want a loaf of bread!
Looks a lovely day Pat. I have no idea how far I walk each day. I must find out. Doubt if it's five miles though. No doubt the dogs would be happy if I did more!
@thistle Well Joyce if you are walking every day you diner need to walk five miles in one fell swoop......they say 40 minutes a day is ample. No walking today fir me as I haven't time....well I could walk round the block after a haircut I suppose!
