A wonderful portrait against the cold and wintery landscape Pat , and yes I agree at whatever age we get excited at the first sign of snow . Glad to gear your cold and sore throat is getting better -- bet place by the fire -- keep warm my friend ! fav
Lydia doesn't have a sore throat any longer and here, looks healthy and happy! Interesting to know that the snow has arrived in England after all that rain! I heard there is a town in Wales that has had rain for 81 days!
@maggiemae She has a really sore throat when the painkillers wear off Maggimae ....keeping cheerful though. Only a light covering of snow here but in the Lake District were Cathy was for the weekend it's bad. We heard tonight she had fallen over & broken her wrist! Got to be reset in the morning at Lancaster Infirmary.
What a beautiful portrait. One to keep for ever I'd say. Sorry to hear that you have been feeling unwell, my son has had something similar, it seems to have lasted for weeks.
Lovely photo. Hope Lydia is feeling much better. Your sore throat has lasted a long time too. I guess it must be the same bug going around the world. We came back from NZ with terrible sore throats and it took ages to clear.
@happypat I tried gargling with aspro clear first to sort my throat out, then I tried swallowing a spoonful of honey, then I tried a glass of warm water with honey and lemon in it, then I tried a glass of warm water with honey, lemon and whisky. That did the trick, ha ha.
@onewing I used honey & lemon throat sweets when it was really sore or I had a tickle but last night resorted to god old Vicks even though my chest was ok. Much better this morning so not sure if it was a coincidence. Mind you it got better before then came back.
this is fantastic Pat, a wonderful shot of your Lydia and a keeper for the family album. Everything works well here. The side profile , the hat , the snow the light . Faved
This is fabulous...great contrast between the sharp and beautiful colors of Lydia against the beautiful mostly. Onochrome and blurry background complete with leading line
@maggiemae They were in the Lakes with friends for the weekend celebrating a 50th birthday. The snow is thick in the Lake District but they decided to have a walk & she slipped put her arm out as you do & there you go. Haven't talked to her yet but it was painful last night. Better when she gets it set properly this morning.
Oh my goodness...such a wonderful capture of your beautiful Lydia! I love this wonderful shot! There is a certain bit of magic and excitement with the first snowfall. I'm hoping we see some this winter...
