Jo & I went to Raglan today. Down at the wharf there's a great pottery place so I treated myself to another lovely pasta dish.
I was 'the news' for Max at school today. I had to stand in the front while he told his class all about me & his grandpa coming over for a holiday & then I did my bit by saying how many miles away & how many aeroplanes etc .
I told them about our local schools being flooded out with all the rain we had experienced, I doubt they could comprehend all that rain!
Funnily enough his best friend has grandparents over too, they arrived from London the day after us. I met the grandad at the gate but he wasn't 'news'!
Finn was at his child minders so we had a free day.
Harry & Anthony were fencing.
A very happy birthday to our UK grandson Jack, thinking off you today Jack.
wow you are very important being 'Morning Talk' what an honour.. far more important that London Grandad... love that pottery shop at Raglan.. another reminder of your kiwi time..
Jack will love this vibrant and colourful scene while you thought of him! There seems to be a great surfing beach here too! I think I just might manage to stand in front of 6 year olds but not 40 year olds!
Sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Max must be so excited to have you here to take you song for morning talk. This is a beautiful photo too. I like how you positioned the seagulls :-). They really add to the shot.
I hope you realise that you have to get this pottery home, unless you know a great fairy that can magic it across the skies. Beatiful capture and I'm envious again.
Thank you all friends for your lovely comments in spite of my sporadic comments. I am having a lovely time but boy we are on the move lots! So easy for me just picking a photo of the day & posting & then lovey to read your comments next morning!
Momentarily I had a vision of Anthony and Harry wielding swords.... Sandy Toksvig wrote a children's book called 'Unusual Day' in which Granny was the 'show and tell' for 'unusual day' but was sent home as not unusual enough - but then she rescues a man from a fire because she's a firefighting granny - one of our favourite books!! (no pressure to do a fireman's lift or anything...)
@judithg Ha ha Judith I remember show & tell now......I had to stand at the front while Max told his class about me , then the introduction & a rew words from me, very interesting, lots of Maori customs & speech. At assembly two girls sang the opening verse of Hallelulia before the orthers joined in. For a school of around fifty kids ages five till twelve I thought it pretty ambitious!

How lovely to be so important.
