One of our local pubs in the village was burgled in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Four masked men wielding knives hid upstairs & then attacked the landlord before making off with the whole Bank Holiday takings.
We aren't used to such goings on round here & its shocked everyone.
Three good things :
1. The burgers didn't use the knives!
2. I have been to the garden centre & managed to stock up with plants for tubs & troughs, I missed last year as I was too late!
3. Finding driving easier over the last two days.
Misread one of your good things, couldn't understand why you had been diving each day. I have one thing to say about burgers, *^!!$&£**, sorry for the swear words. Glad the owner was OK and hope the police catch them.
I have a horror of bad men hiding in cupboards - as a child I would open my wardrobe doors and other cupboards just to check! How awful -hope they catch them. Good to hear about the driving!
I imagine the tongues must be wagging at the Black Bull - and everyone will be talking about this for years to come!
So glad no one was hurt. And, it is probably because it is so quiet there and no one expecting anything like this that the Black Bull was chosen.
Thieves are generally a cowardly lot and will only attack unsuspecting people and places. Makes me mad!
Good heavens, how awful. The poor landlord must be in a terrible state. Hope he is okay. You don't expect this sort of thing in little villages do you. Nowhere is safe these days.
How horrible for the landlord and the locals. A nasty shock for you all. I have to say the pub looks cute though. Its a shame that black bull didn't chase the burglars away.
