I met a friend in Lancaster today who I hadn't seen for thirty years. Our children used to go the the same primary school & the boys were friends.
I always got on well with Carol but seemed to lose touch as you sometimes do.
I got into contact with her again through Cathy when she went to have her feet done at Schol.
We spent two hours catching up with all the news & plan to visit her when she moves to London in a month or so.
Farmers Markey in the square in Lancaster.
Three good things:
1. I took my camera to the shop & the chap gave it a good going over. He thought sand in the lens which makes sense, a good clean & it seems ok again but the problem could reoccur! The picture still looks a bit light but better than it was!
2. I purchased a new flower insert for mum & dads grave stone as I walked past a funeral shop. Every time I put flowers on the grave I think I must buy a new one but it's not a shop you see that frequently! We have had no top on it for a year or two!
3. A bottle of summer blue nail polish for toes!
What's the difference between Outdoor Reared Hog Roast and indoor when it's been roasted. Lovely capture and great that you met up with your long lost friend. Blue toe nails, they will look cold.
A lovely shot Pat -- love these street scenes -- so good to meet up with old friends -- wonderful how one picks up the threads and the conversation flows without any hesitation ! Glad the camera is somewhat working better again !
There looks to be lots of interesting stalls. I like the sound of blue nail polish. Maybe I should be a bit bolder .... except my toes don't often get an outing up here!
Must of been the day for catching up with old friends. . Just unfortunate that mone was at a funeral though. .
Oh dear that nz sand still causing problems.
@ladymagpie Yes who cares when you have it in your mouth but in theory the outdoor reared should be tastier & you would have the happy knowledge that at least it's had a happy if short life. I say again though at this point if nobody ate meat no one would rear animals for fun....there has to be a market!
@jmj@ladymagpie Blue nail polish looks quite good on toe nails in the summer I think. My NZ DIL used it on my toe nails & I did like it just for summer.
@julzmaioro Yes I'm afraid so Julz & to be honest I think it will do intermittently for a while if not for ever. Next camera I get I am going back to Cannon but with no lens. I was so keen to take proper photos with manual, setting but in fact am too lazy to do anything like that & am a quick look in the lens & shoot type of photographer. Funerals are the usual place to meet long lost friends I must say!
@thistle @carolmw @dide Was a lovely meet up & we were interested to see what our respective sons were doing. She has no grandchildren yet so I count myself lucky to have six!
I recognise this street. David's Mum and Dad lived in Lancaster for a while after leaving North Wales.
always good to catch up with old friends. You always seem to pick up where you left off with no time in-between too which is lovely.
what a lovely street scene. Blue toenails sound great. I love how when you meet old friends the time in between seems to disolve and you just take up where you left off.
@happypat another single figure temp here tomorrow and rain all day. Susannah coming with friends and our local Highland Games on Saturday...
not brilliant!!!!
