First potatoes by happypat

First potatoes

Harry dug up our first potatoes this afternoon, we were rather surprised how big they were!

He is very proud of them as you can imagine!

Three good things:
1. I booked my train ticket to go down to Birmingham & meet @thistle. Bargain at £10 return!
2. New potatoes & butter!
3. Five setter tennis matches!
They're certainly the biggest new pots I've ever seen. You've reminded of a childhood visit to my mother's cousin who lived in the country. We had new pots for dinner & I' ve never tasted any like them since.

Looking good with the spuds, well done Harry. Yes I've just watched the 5 set match with Federer, I think I hit every shot. Now there's no Hurry with a Murray on court now.

@ladymagpie I felt a bit sorry for Cilic, no one to cheer him on!

@quietpurplehaze The ones underneath aren't as big Hazel, half of them in the pan cooking now!

Yes mine are big too and I would have started digging them a month ago if I had realised they were ready but I have been using them for a couple of weeks- they're very tasty

@rosiekind ours were lovely tonight too Rosie, we looked at them about three weeks ago but they were very small so rather taken aback at the size when we dug some up today!

Lovely to see these beauties. It's all that rain we've had! Yes I started digging mine up a couple of weeks ago.

How wonderful to see such growth! I think somehow men like to grow and dig up potatoes but not to do the weeding under the roses! Joyce ( @thistle ) will be happy to see you!
