So hot today that only the roofing man turned up for work.
He works incredibly hard all on his own & there he was on top of the roof at 8am this morning. By lunchtime the slates had go too hot so he went home. He did all the slating you see here today.
I had a mishap again last night & as my ankle was sore again it was awkward getting out of the shower & my feet slipped & down I went. No damage except my thumb went back & it's swollen & very sore today. The third mishap so I'm hoping that's it!
Today I have a sore ankle, sore wrist & sore thumb!
I have never had any injuries like this for years & years!
Three good things:
1. A day sitting out doing nothing but read my book.
2. The hottest day of the year over 32DegC, quite nice if youv'e nothing to do!
3. Icecream
@jmj Yes he is a great worker, quick too. I feel a wreck tonight but I have a quiet week so no harm done. I did think of going to A&E but I don think it's that bad, sore though!
Well done to the roofer -- very sensible of him to start early and be off by lunchtime in this heat . Ooh Pat --you are a calamity Jane these days --I hope the latest accident does not prove to be too bad ! Take it easy Pat and rest all your weary parts !! Enjoy a good book !
@busylady@beryl@phil_howcroft I am in the wars & it's so very painful tonight that I take I might get Harry to take me to A&E in the morning when it's quiet. Have been slack commenting tonight.
I do think you should get it checked out! You could have wrenched a muscle or tendon in the thumb. It will feel better when its professional bandaged up. Good to see the roofer is a busy boy and good to see that there is finally a summer in England!
Wow, the tiler did so well to do all that singlehanded.
Oh dear Pat, what will we do with you. Please stay put for a day or two. I think you need to be fitted with stabilizers.
You poor thing. I do hope its not broken. Just stay put for a while and enjoy the warm weather. The slate roof look beautiful but a bit too hot to stay up there all day.
I think we are going to have to put you in cotton wool, but perhaps not in this heat which reach 35°C here in the Stroud Valleys. I expect when the roofer went home he said "Bye, tile we meet again".
Oh dear, only just seen this after your comment on Sue's page. For some reason your photos have dropped off my feed so I haven't seen any for ages. Hope you're hand is getting better.
I can imagine how uncomfortable - and dangerous - it must have been on that roof in the heat.
re the hot tiles...don't worry pat it will be pouring down tomorrow !
