A foggy day

Woke up to quite thick fog this morning which has hung around all day.

When I went to take a few fog photos in the garden all I could hear were a massive flock of wild geese coming towards me but I couldn't see their V shape until they were right overhead.
It sounded wonderful!

Three good things:
1. Nature & how those geese knew exactly where they were going!
2. I have bought a brilliant new backpack for my travels next month. Loads of pockets, looks smart & it must be better than carrying my flight bag on one shoulder the long distance between different terminals at Dubai airport.
3. Two night without getting up in the night! Long may it continue!

Thank you for sharing the sounds of the wild geese! I think this fog/mist is ubiquitous. Bliss not to get up in the night!!!!!

I like this shot - the foreground is nice and flat and the peaked gables of the house are just visible! I totally agree with the shoulder thing! I've got a backpack which can take my camera, my computer, my packed lunch and compass plus a clean handkerchief!

Lovely shot. Backpacks are so much easier when distance is involved. The strap on my shoulder bag broke recently from the sheer weight of everything in there! Oops!

@maggiemae well I'm up in the night as you can see! Just going to test drive a herbal sleeping tablet my DIL was given in business class on plane. I need to try it before i get on that long 16 hour flight to see if it agrees! Good chance tonight I think!

Yes, when it's foggy you can hear a lot of sounds that typically you might miss. Must be something with the way sound is captured in the fog

I just love the sound of geese too. I often stop on my way to school and just stare at the sky while they go on their way.
