The sea is a little deceiving in this shot as although it looks angry & deep it is in fact playful & shallow!
The one good thing about the five mile beach at Blackpool is that it's very gently sloping for a long way & it's only in the winter that sometimes silly people who drink too much get swept in by the waves sometimes with tragic consequences.
This chap had a pretty easy job watching for holiday makers in danger.
Three good things:
1. Visit to the charity shop.
2. Max must like school so much he wanted to go on the way home yesterday morning! He has been up since 3am & says he's going today, I doubt it somehow!
3. Melons for £1 in Booths, will help with the healthy diet!
He does look a bit layed back. Good to have a patrol handy though... good to hear Max is keen to get back to school... bet he's got lots of stories to tell...
It must be the sea floor that gives the sea this muddy look - expect its quite clean or people would not want to swim in it! Saw water melons for 45c the other day!
A great shot and composition Pat -- this looks just like a watercolour painting ! The sea patrol must be getting pretty easy days at the moment with the weather not enticing the holidaymakers to spend time on the beach !
@beryl strangely even though the chains were up stopping people from going down to the water there were one or two ignoring them & strolling along thecsteos near the sea. One family who had two small children were right up to the water& he was watching them some people have no sense even though it was fairly safe you always hear of that one rogue wave.
