Books & more books!

So many books at Chatsworth!
Thousands of them I imagine, the library was my favourite room. A smaller size & lots of easy chairs it looked manageable compared with the other grand rooms.

I am rather sick of my Chatsworth House photos now but it's so very cold out that I have not even thought about taking any photos.
I am going to Southport on a jolly tomorrow but apprehensive about the weather as it's forecast heavy snow on Sunday. My car is not good when it's slippy!

Three good things:
1. Woodburners.
2. The washing dried beautifully but my word it was agony hanging them out in the bitter wind!
3. A long Skype with Jack in Japan. Bless him he's doing so well at the school, his classroom teacher he works with said they were lucky to have him he was so diligent! That's high praise in Japan!

A library full of books but strictly forbidden to touch them...
Heavy snow forecasted here too, had to cancel a family get together on Sunday (more than 300 km by car...)

Your white Christmas is arriving early. Lovely image of the library. Our summer has strived with high temperatures and sticky humidity.

Lots of books ... that would keep you busy.. oh your weather does sound a bit miserable... as @dide said hot and humid here...

@dide @julzmaioro I bet @gijsje would agree with me at this moment that we would swop with you! It's the wind that's so cold, I have an extra sweater on & our house is warm normally! We are snug tonight with fire on & curtains closed.

Lots of lovely books. I hope the snow doesn't disrupt your day tomorrow.

If you are going to get snow in early December - it will be a long winter! I would love to have a library - with a fire and several comfy armchairs and in the corner - a drinks table!

This looks wonderful in B&W!

@graemestevens no I agree, my aim is to have a bookcase all along one wall one day!

@maggiemae yes a very long winter, they are anyway but usually no snow until after Christmas. It's the wind that's the problem today, it's such a chill factor.

Beautiful books so wonderfully bound in leather !

The b&w makes this capture look expensive. I’m sure those antique leather bound books are pricey.

I love the smell of old books. I wonder if anyone reads these books.
