The dreaded hill! by happypat

The dreaded hill!

We live on an elevated part of the fairly flat area known as The Fyde of Lancashire. The area is known for its dairy farms mostly & some crops, the soil is exceptionally good.
In am area which floods quite frequently we are mighty glad to live high up.
The downside is the hill. It can be quite tricky coming along the road & then immediately having to stop over the brow & turn right. We have learned to put our indicators out at the bottom of the hill, hover on the top then make a rush for it when there is no approaching traffic. It can get scary sometimes as cars drive so fast....if in doubt carry on to the next turn off.

The other downside is that if you want to go a walk or cycle ride this hill has to be negotiated first, you can see how narrow the footpath is. It does put you off sometimes, I use it as an excuse occasionally!!!

In this photo you can see Beacon Fell beyond. Just noticed the moon there in the early afternoon!

Three good things:
1. You can tell Spring is round the corner!
2. I am 5ft 3ins but when I took my varifocal glasses off I felt so tall as I walked along! My glasses must have brought the ground so much closer!
3. I am out to a Burns evening dinner tonight .....neeps & tatties & all that so I'm sorry no commenting.
I can see autocorrect just couldn't deal with neeps! You have to be so forceful at times! Lots of fun and bagpipe music! A nice sweeping curve to the photo!

That dodgy hill would scare me too. Lovely capture though. Enjoy your Burns Night Supper. We’re going to one on Saturday.
