We drove through our old hamlet yesterday so I took a quick photo through the car window screen
I spent over thirty five years of married life living in Inglewhite before we moved here to Larbreck.
Our kids went to school here & we were very involved with the life around these parts. The farming community being a very large part of it.
This village green was where our daughter & son in law had some wedding photos taken after their marriage. Our son in law was from Inglewhite too. Not a brilliant photo as it's through the glass & it was spitting a bit.
We still go to events here & know many people still from this area, still our second home really.
St Patrick's Day today so happy St Patrick's Day to all.
Three good things:
1. Full house with B&B this weekend.
2. Our daughter in law has just been taking part in the Whaioro Spirited Women-All women Adventure Race around the Whakatane area of NZ. Teams of four running, mountain biking, kayaking, swimming etc it looked hard work but fun.
3. Snowing but only in showers, won't last long thank goodness!
Still looks a bit wintry - and some snow too! Its a lovely time of year here - not too hot but the sun is shining. Sun makes such a difference and it would too with this scene! All these energetic people! Glad I have the excuse of age!
Isn't it lovely revisting old home towns... don't know about you but I always expect someone I know to pop up and say hello... it's odd when they don't..
@maggiemae Same here maggie, not my scene at all even when younger! It's bitterly cold here tonight so ready for summer. Even coming to NZ at wrong time this year, will have to come prepared!
@alinz@beryl@filsie65 Well we do see lots of people we know there, houses very rarely come up for sale, they all seem to stay put. Of about twenty houses I think most of the people who were there when we were are still living there, my SiL parents too.
