A lovely walk along the Lancaster canal this morning in Garstang.
This is the curve of the Wyre Aqueduct where the canal passes over the River Wyre.
Aqueducts are rather amazing I think, when you look down from the bridge & see the river way down below as it passes underneath.
I followed that barge for a good mile along the canal, he was going the same speed as me. When they arrived at the canal basin just beyond here they tied up & had their lunch.
Not good news about Lily tonight. She has been acting very oddly walking round & round continuously. We've had to get the cat carrier from next door to keep her calm. Booked into the vet tomorrow morning, they were full up tonight.
We feel sad.
Three good things:
1. Meeting Lydia by chance in Garstang after my walk.
2. Scrolling down all the wonderful photos posted on #WWM2018
3. Feeling of well being & energy after a good walk.
Poor Lily. It doesn't sound good but I hope she recovers. It's so hard when they have been with you for so long. Looks like an amazing aqueduct I think I've seen it but more years ago than I care to remember!!
The aquaducts in the UK fascinate me as well.. would live to do a camel trip sometime.. oh poor Lily... and poor you and Harry... I guess her to e has come .. she has been a very loyal friend😽
@thistle@julzmaioro thank you, it's a sad time but it's distressing watching her pacing up & down. Oddly two more family pets are not good either today.
What a great scene. I'd love to walk around the area. I hope lily is okay!!! I'm currently in the ER with Gage. He' s dehydrated again so he's getting a litre of saline.
Oh.poor Lily.we are so fond of our pets aren't we..such part of the family..and memories..so distressing.aqueducts fascinating.i took the dog a walk this afternnon.felt energised when i got back..x
What a gorgeous blue sky and sunlit scene - it looks as it Spring has arrived . Ooh poor Lily , so hard for you to see her like this and unable to tell you how she feels ! Shame you couldn't see the vet tonight -- a long time till the morning !
@kwind oh dear Kim, you do have such a worrying time, poor Gage it's an ongoing struggle! Must be always in your mind. Hope there is a break through very soon.
@brennieb we do indeed & a time we dread although Lily has had a long & happy life, spoilt full time from Harry so we can't be too sad. It will be odd without her.
@beryl Yes we rang & they were fully booked, we asked fir perhaps a home visit but the vet was on call & due out so only thing to do was book in tomorrow. She's asleep in the cat carrier now so it's good to see her still. Apparently Mondays are always the same at the vets! It's not just a cat & dog vet but farm animals too so mire pressure on them. Our youngest sons dog is at the vets too in NZ , having fits & unconscious, he us getting on too so old age. So sad when the time comes,
@maggiemae Yes it us but she's had a good life. She's quite hard work now she's got old too so I have mixed feelings. It's upsetting to see her roaming round!
Sorry about Lily 😔
Sad news about Lily. It is always sad when we have to come to terms with the possibility of losing our pets.
