The biggest thing I have noticed since Lily died is the ability to leave any door we like open.
Before we were always having to shut doors behind us. She wasn't allowed upstairs but if the kitchen door was ajar she put her paw round it & managed to sneak through.
In the latter days we were always watching to make sure she went into the utility room to get to her litter tray, she was a bit forgetful on very odd occasions!
Now it's bliss being able to leave doors open all over the house.
Three good things:
1. I spoke to number 1 grandson on the day he starts his trip round the world! William & his girlfriend are just about to land in San Francisco. Auckland to San Fransisco!
2. Harry pressure washed the outside garden furniture, all green algae gone.
3. Cool bags. I went to pick Lydia up from work but got delayed on the way home, luckily the ice cream I bought did not melt.
Nice to be able to let the air and sunshine flow through but you must be missing Lily.... sounds like koi are ready for summer.. Are William and GF coming to the UK as well.... excitingtimes...
Loving your conversation with Boo Pat. We would have met up when we were in Sweden except she said it was a day's journey from where she lives to where we were!
Trip sounds fantastic! I know you have mixed feelings about Lily. Because of dealing with an old sick cat, I decided I couldn't do that again, no matter how much I loved and miss Abigail.
@allie912 no we're not doing it again either. Harry minds a few animals diwn our Kane while owners away & it's the first time in all our lives we have never had any animal to look after.
@beryl she loved going upstairs & lying full length on the landing floor by the radiator Beryl, I think she could properly stretch her bent body flat by some heat.
@loweygrace No not really Lois, he's just the opposite! He likes being at home & never travels far thought the family did emigrate to NZ eight years ago. His girlfriend Erin is visiting home in the USA so they are coming here too fir three weeks on the way back. Sounds like he's going round the world stopping off everywhere but it's just the way he's traveling!
William would have been saving up for this trip! Good for him. You have joined the club of no animals again - years of putting up with them but loving them so much!
Sorry to hear about Lily - I suppose the saying 'it's an ill wind..' is true :)
