This is an old photo taken I would think about nine years ago.
Jenny on the right, our faithful old Labrador, she died a few years ago, the best dog ever!
Tui on the left who, originally belonged to our son Anthony & his wife Jo. She stayed behind with us when they emigrated to NZ twelve years ago.
She died about three years ago from a heart attack.
The middle dog is Izzy, a Lancashire heeler. She belonged to our eldest son Brian & his wife Lesley. She had the most exciting life of the three of them as she emigrated to NZ on her own in a crate in the hold.
Sadly she died around a month ago, they miss her very much but she so enjoyed her life on the farm in NZ.
As you can see all great friends & waiting for a biscuit from Harry.
Three good things:
1. We are well on with our jobs making the house ready for new tenants next door, decorator is here, carpet man coming tonight & wood burner has a new glass in the door.
2. New potatoes beginning to come into the shops, late this year but still as tasty with butter!
3. I read in the newspaper today that there has been a study at two universities, Sheffield & Lancaster & they have come to the conclusion that to take a photo everyday & post online keeps the blues away!
Dr Andrew Cox co -author says ' it encourages people to look differently at the world around them, prompts them to go out of their routine ways & connects them with others'. It also improves well being!
I think he is describing 365 perfectly!
Such an appropriate photo for me today. So good to know that our old friends live on in our hearts.
Sadly, we had to put our old dog down today - her hips were gone and she could no longer handle stairs or rough ground. As a matter of fact, she would often lose her balance when just standing there.
A sad day in our house indeed.
@farmreporter oh dear Wendy, so very sorry to hear that news. I feel for you, it's such a heartbreaking time when you lose a beloved pet, digs especially become our shadows & we miss their constant company. Remember her lovely times. X
I love that info about the study - thank you. The dogs are all charming but I just love that alert stance from Izzy although we can only see her back view.
Its very nicely taken, Pat - with that slight smile from Harry and the three dogs who shared your life. Sad to know theres no replacements.... but thank goodness for the camera!
Oh I love the anticipation of this shot! It clearly brings back some warm memories of companions. What a great quote for your number 3 on the list! Plus, I bought my first Jersey Royals of the years yesterday too :) Gorgeous!
Love your nr. 3! He is absolutely right.

Your No 3 good things is perfect, it fits 365 completely.
