Night time tree walk by happypat

Night time tree walk

I flew back from Christchurch this afternoon after a lovely stay with Alex & Simon. Sad to say goodbye.

Ant, Jo & the boys met me at Rotorua airport & we went on an amazing night time Redwoods Tree walk.

Suspended in the air high up its NZ longest suspended tree walk over half a kilometre long. Lights & lanterns hang high above the walk ways & little glow worm lights are all around, it was magical.

Not good with taking photos in the dark, Jo took this one on her phone but it gives an idea of the feel.
The Redwood trees are so tall & straight & it was so quiet & beautiful.

I must thank all of you lovely people for still commenting on my photos even though I am rubbish at 365 at the moment!
Looks great.. some where I've been meaning to go when down there..

That is so lovely. I imagine it must have been really magical. I love the redwoods even in the day time but have never done the suspended walk. Something to put on the 'to do' list.

It would not have been warm either, but worth it to experience the feeling of trees and the dark!

@dkbarnett Definitely Delwyn it was a magical experience all round. Day time must be good too & you can walk & cycle all round some lovely tracks.

@maggiemae We were lucky with the weather maggie, a but nippy towards the end but very still & no wind. Very foggy on the way home to Taupo so not a good journey home for the driver!
