Ireland has many grottos along the roads, in villages or just at the side of the road. They are very sweet & typically Irish, maintained beautifully & part of the Irish culture.
We went in the church here & I have never seen such magnificent stained glass. I took photos but they haven't turned out well, the light was glarey! Ii
We are in the town of Trim famous for its castle, the oldest Norman castle in Ireland.
Just heard that Braveheart the movie with Mel Gibson was filmed here in 1994.
The river Boyne runs through the town so quite a famous place in history with many a skirmish over the years!
On to Dublin in the morning for a few hours then afternoon ferry home!
I didn't know the Irish did things like this - more like Turkey and France perhaps! You can worship outside the church. Lovely old church - doesn't seem to have a steeple.
Impressive shot with the majestic church in the background. I agree with Taffy - the foreground works so well in setting up the beautiful architecture.
