I love airports!
Nothing better than people watching, we sat on a couple of stools right next to the doors from the baggage collecting. Two cups of coffee & a mince pie it was lovely!
Excitement of course to be seeing family arrive for Christmas but there was a real buzz with lots of people meeting family home for the holiday.
Two grandparents opposite came complete with Santa hats & balloons.
Big open arms when two small granddaughters came through the doors!
The lady waiting next to me thought she should have brought balloons too!
Three good things:
1. A new surf boarding topless Santa for my tree!
2. Good flights!
3. Family.
Ps.. I love people watching at airports as well.. but when my Sister and niece were in the UK at the time of 9-11 it was a very somber time at airport arrivals ..
Airports at Christmas always remind me of the opening and closing sequences of the film Love Actually! I find myself singing the Beach Boys song they have running over the sequence "God only knows what I'd be without you." Hope you have a super family Christmas!
I like the different expressions in the waiting crowd - hopeful, excited, nonchalant, tired and that tall guy in the back just looks a bit scary! People-watching is so intriguing isn't it? Have a great family time and a happy Christmas season.
