I’ve been doing a bit of sorting out today, have to make a start!
Various souvenir mugs that have been in a small oak wall cupboard will be going somewhere but I have no I idea where! Not even sure where they came from, someone at some time must have collected them over the years.
This is just the type of thing we wonder what to do with when decluttering.
I think a trip to the local antique type emporium is called for!
Three good things:
1. Decisions made & a list started!
2. Treating myself to reading a book on my kindle today. I stopped buying them as I was shocked how much I was spending so the library for me lately! Couldn’t warrant a trip to Garstang just for library books so the kindle it is!
3. An online order suits!
@casablanca I would give them to you if you were nearer .....I shall take them to the auction with other similar stuff...thanks @mave You could be right!
I had a few too but sent them to the auction room when disbanding my parent's home. I am afraid I am not into this type of memorbillia The latest China n ones were used. I KEEP SAYING ITS TIME I NEED TO DECLUTTER TOO ... GOOD LUCK !!
Maybe you could sell them on ebay. In our area we have garage sales and also if people have a lot of things to sell they can use our local community hall, church hall or scout hut and sell things from there. Either just put a price on them or sell them by auction. Garage sales are very big here though and there are lots of people who just buy the local paper see where the garage sales are and then spend Saturday mornings driving round them all picking up bargains. A neighbour of ours is having a garage sale today and lots of people have visited already. I have never seen our little cul de sac so busy.
Nice collection. I collected china and glassware for years. I really need to sell it except for a couple of sentimental pieces for my kids. The rest they don't want or need. Prices go up and down and you have to find the right time to sell it.
@onewing Yes good idea, garage sales not too usual here, car boot but they always knock you down & can I be bothered? There is a local place called Horrocks across the river. I plan to take photos & visit tomorrow to see if they are interested in various things. Cathy is coming today to have a look if there’s anything she wants to keep.
It’s so difficult to get rid of some things isn’t it. I found it really hard and we brought far too much with us, things I’ve bought and collected over the years. Sadly some things are in the loft because we have a much smaller house. I’m thinking of you and empathising ( is that the right word? 😁)
