A good day’s work by me, Simon & Alex, we cleared the attic! There was a lot of stuff in here, this is only half the size you can see here. Two wardrobes, plus boxes suitcases, tents, Christmas stuff, cot, high chair I could go on & on but praise be it’s all downstairs.
All in piles for charity, to take & to go to the curiosity shop plus some has gone in the almost full skip! We just left two rolls of spare wallpaper just in case.
A load off our minds.
Three good things:
1. Anyone want a dinner suit, I have two here.... hardly worn either!
2. Old photos, fascinating to see & Alex was very interested. When we move & I have more time I’m going to write on the back of each one.
3. Harry has consented fir his old familiar chair to go in the skip! It was very old, lots of broken springs, worst of all it had to be covered by a throw which always looked untidy....it’s looking tidier with our American rocker in its place....I wonder if he will still be able to fall asleep in this one!
Ooh Pat ! what a good job done - so pleased you had young and willing helpers ! The trouble is - you find treasures with special memories - but one has to be ruthless at such a time !
The head of a chair is so important to support the neck. John's new chair doesn't and he gets a sore neck if he falls asleep! This is a huge job - wardrobes - down the stairs! Should be the job of a removal man!
@maggiemae We e had the removal chap this morning discussing the job....no date yet fir moving but wardrobes in attic just cheap plastic so we dismantled them & gone in the skip! You’re right about the chair!
@beryl It gets easier being ruthless as time goes on...I love chucking stuff in the skip! I’m not that a sentimental person as it happens & only keep stuff I feel guilty getting rid of! 😳
Your attic looks so neat and tidy.
