A beautiful sunny morning...the copper beach trees going down the drive looked a beautiful shade of copper.
When we moved here in 1999 this part of the farm was fields.
After we finished milking in 2010 we landscaped this area to make a separate driveway to the house.
We planted over 40 trees & they have grown so much over the last ten years...I feel we have done a bit for the environment.
When we move to our new place we will do the same. Lots of saplings springing up all over out of control so we need to clear the site & replant trees down at the bottom of the garden.
Three good things:
1. We’ve been out for our lunch...thought we might have had to book but we were OK.
2. Sitting on a few garden benches as we have two vouchers to spend. A great time to buy as they are reduced in the sale.
3. The NHS Spitfire flew over us this afternoon....it looked cold up there without a cockpit roof. Thank you NHS was written on the undercarriage. They were touring round all the Northwest hospitals.
Your drive way does
look lovely.. and it will be exciting replanting your new garden.. Good to see the support for the NHS... All med staff go a great job in these tough times...
Beautiful copper beech and long shadows under a gloriously blue sky - a much better dt today Pat - Nice to be able to spend vouchers and have the extra bargain of it being sale time . Lucky you and so good to be planning ahead for your new home and garden !
We planted a copper beech tree on our wedding day. It died but thankfully our marriage, almost 56 years in!, hasn’t. We replanted and this one is doing great though we rarely see it since we live on the other side of the country
@jgpittenger Well so glad your marriage us thriving in spite of bad omen copper beach Jane...you could have lost heart!! 🤣. Seriously we are lucky with our choices we are 58 years in two weeks..where has the time gone? Good to know we leave a bit of nature behind us when we go!
@louannwarren Great to see that..it was too high up for us to see the words properly. The NHS is a wonderful thing...we have truly appreciated it even more than we normally do....we sometimes grumble about the waiting but we as a family have always been well served.
@julzmaioro Harry is full of plans for the garden...he wants lots if grass naturally which is ok for me, I’m not a gardener but do love a neat tidy natural garden with shrubs & trees. Yes our medical staff do wonders!
@dide Thanks Dianne, the first entrance goes to this side of the house & the other curves right round to the big shed & garage then onto the back door & sitting out bit.
