Can you see him? Right in the middle of the photo.
Lovely to see this pheasant visiting our garden this morning.
He did come all the way up to the ground feeder on the right but I preferred this photo as the other one you could see my reflection. I was trying not to move to disturb him.
I think he will be back again, he had a massive feed!
Three good things:
1. We had a look round the holiday let we are renting tonight, it looks very comfortable & we’ve managed to delay our stay if need be until we have a date for the build.
2. Harry’s second Covid jab has been postponed so I might have moved up the list!😁
3. We had to laugh as the rental house has a bookcase & the first thing we saw was the name Alex Ferguson in large letters on his autobiography....this happens to be the new married name of our granddaughter so we felt at home!
What a lovely garden and so nice to have a visitor. I wonder if he's welcome though as they can be rather destructive - especially if you're growing any tasty veg!
What a handsome bird! Have only ever seen them briefly as they take flight away. If I had a ground feeder, my Labrador would be in heaven. He loves scrounging under my pole feeders.
Ooh a posh visitor in your lovely new garden! Still no sign of dad’s vaccination- he’s 87, in the extreme vulnerable group and his practice have started vaccinating so I don’t know who’s ahead of him but he must be soon I think! Can’t wait to see your house all done!
@judithg ha ha nor can we Judith! The gardeners are due anytime so fear all the birds we have carefully nurtured will be scared off. They love all the overgrown borders.
@bkp Well we are in two minds about the ground feeders N
Barbara as all the birds live them but the starlings are a big nuisance swooping down in gangs, we are fed up with them so have to be canny at the time we fill the feeders up...after lunch when the starlings have gone I the best time.m
You've moved out of this house? Can't quite work it out what is happening but as long as you are happy, that's fine! Having a pheasant around would only be seen here right in the country!
What a lovely expanse of a garden Pat , So lovely to see the pheasant visiting as well as all the other birds , The covid lock down has also unnerved me this time - the reality of the whole dilemma we are in seems so real and frightening !
Lovely garden scene Pat. We get a visiting pheasant around this time of the year and I have positioned the camera through the cat flap to capture him but it’s not the lost comfortable experience!
Give him a few weeks and he will have his harem of hen pheasants!
@maggiemae No we are still here maggie but due to move into rental this coming weekend. We have been trying to get hold of the builder today to see if we have a date...hopefully we will talk to him tomorrow! No good moving into temporary too soon! We can move it backwards now if need be so relived. It was just if the holiday had been booked later in the early summer but we can have it now until 6th June if we want.
Your visitor is gorgeous! As is your fabulous garden! A beautiful scene.
Was Harry's second Covid booster postponed because the UK is going to try half doses to extend vaccination numbers? I've heard that health officials in the US are considering the possibility of giving half doses to expand supply.
@thewatersphotos No all pheasants are wild Gary...I was surprised to see him here as we aren’t in a vet quiet road now we have moved. Saw lots of them on the farm of course but the bottom of our garden is a busy road. They do fly to get to places but mostly a ground bird, I never saw him fly off!
@peggysirk Yes Peggy. The first injection was the Pfizer one which has a good protection after the first dose so the government has decided to delay the second dose to up to 12 weeks to allow more people to get the protection of the first dose. This second variant is going wild, it’s very scary!
@happypat We're seeing more cases of the variant over here too. And apparently the administering of vaccinations is going much slower than had been expected. There aren't nearly enough health care workers to do mass numbers of injections. I hope you get your jab soon!!
@peggysirk Same here Peggy but the have committed to vaccinating the majority of the vulnerable & over 75
‘S I think by mid February. Apparently there is a shortage of glass vials now!!!
Nice garden - are you having lots of building work done on your new house Pat? Look forward to seeing the finished job! We are having our bungalow rendered in the spring with grey UPVC windows - scared at the prospect but should look nice 🤞
