That baler twine gets everywhere.... by happypat

That baler twine gets everywhere....

I couldn't work out why this baler twine was tied onto these gates but there must be an answer somewhere...
I don’t think the sheep are going to get through these small gaps!

Three good things:
1. I commented on quite a few posts from 365 early this morning. I have been finding it quite hard keeping up with the commenting this last week since many old friends restarted 365....it’s good to spread it about the day.
2. I have realised how important it is to have free returns on any purchases. Today I had to send a dressing gown back to a very well known company & it’s been quite a palaver & cost me £3.50 & print your own label. We get used to free returns & ready printed labels.
3. Mr Pheasant visited us again this morning & much bolder this time!
What a lovely blue sky. I hope you solve the mystery of the baler twine.

I wonder if it supported a sign or banner?
365 can be time consuming and was the reason for my stopping for so long. With lockdown I guessed it could be a wise time to restart.
Weather looks bright with you Pat.

Nice to see a lovely blue sky. Still grey and rainy here.

Commenting on 365 is time consuming, especially when English is not your native tongue, but it brings me great pleasure.

Maybe just picked up by a farmer or walker a tied there so sheep can't chew it..
It is hard to keep up with commenting but we all in the same boat and no need to stress it.. we all enjoy your day to day photos.

Love all the textures and colors in this. Baler twine rocks, I buy a spool every ten years or so, it is very handy stuff!

It's a mystery! I agree about the palaver of returning goods now - so time consuming!
January 7th, 2021
Look at that sky! I know what you mean about returns - I think it’s young people who are quite happy to buy any return whereas we find it a pain and now the companies are making it harder!

@busylady @lucycameron I think it could be as simple as darning the holes!! 🤣🤣

A lovely sky, very frosty and foggy here all day

@gijsje Yes it must be a bit if a challenge sometimes....you must be quite fluent though...well done us English expect everyone to speak our language so are lazy foreign speakers on the whole I feel.

@julzmaioro I found I was taking all night last night plus trying to watch favourite tv programmes. Will try & spread it out.
January 7th, 2021
@bkp It’s indispensable on a farm....haven’t used any lately though.
January 7th, 2021
@lyndamcg it was a pain today! I haven’t got a working printer so had to ask Cathy to print one off for me then pick it up & so on...shan’t be buying off them again!
January 7th, 2021
@judithg I think firms these days are so organised when you come across one that’s not it’s not good. I also ordered to expensive walking coats one in each size. Neither fitted so back they went...return registered but no refund yet! I have had to email them! I think online shopping is losing its appeal.....I know it’s been Christmas & all that.

Farmers' string is a regular occurrence in our neck of the woods. International renown!?
January 7th, 2021
I comment on 365 just when I can be bothered - or to fill in a few minutes of spare time! Mind you, I have 24 hours of spare time! The farmers might have had a few lengths of twine left over from something and tied it up here in case he might need it.
I don't think I've ever sent something back - can't be bothered. I should have as some blouses I ordered are far too big!

could the twine just have blown in there... i like the winter sky
January 8th, 2021
You are fortunate that your baling string is tied to the fence. Ours is often strewn about the field.
January 8th, 2021
Looks like someone has done some repair work on the gate. Looks like something I would have done. :)
The commenting is fun conversation that I look forward to...as long as I keep following to a minimum. We'll see how long that lasts.

Seems to be doing the trick.

I am finding it difficult to keep up at the moment too, just spend as much or little time as you are able on 365. Sometimes I feel I should comment because if I don't people may think I am not looking at their photos. I do look but don't always get time to comment.

@peggysirk @onewing The commenting part is the hardest work but the part I enjoy the most...I love the conversation & sometimes find the photo incidental. It does take up a considerable amount of time though. I couldn’t manage if I was working. I feel mean if I don’t comment back sometimes if someone has taken the trouble to comment on mine!

@maggiemae It’s best to be relaxed about it all...it’s a fun thing to do but the other night I was bogged down with it somewhat. The shop i usually buy things off is excellent at online. They come promptly, next day if you pay, beautifully wrapped with a free returns label. You try them on & send back if you don’t like then they refund promptly. I sent fir two expensive brand walking coats, neither fitted well enough as I am a petite size & the waists are in the wrong place. Quite an outlay for money.,,no refund yet & that was well before Christmas. They have acknowledged return but if they don’t pay back before long I’m going to have to cough up on the credit card as I rarely use it & always clear it...my holiday one!

Lovely view of the green field and blue sky!
January 8th, 2021
Yep, can't think why you'd need to twine up those small gaps in the fencing ... but there will be a reason! I was out in our garden chasing our resident pheasant for a photo yesterday too. Got one decent shot which may well appear on 365 over the weekend - unless anything better turns up between now and then!

@onewing you are always excellent at commenting Babs!

Beautiful shot and great dof. The salt pans must have been cut in the rocks during the 14/15/century when the world discovered how to store products like meat without allowing it to rot. This was important especially for mariners who went out to sea without knowing when they could find land and get replacement food. Because of this importance, salt costed very high prices. The Mediterranean is quite salty and the only thing one had to do was wait for rough seas to fill the pans and wait for summer to evaporate the water, leaving the salt behind. Then it was
Easy to collect the salt and sell it.

Interesting puzzle about the baler twine, but it makes for a great shot.
January 8th, 2021
When I worked on a farm I remember that stuff. We used it for everything. Well spotted. and Great shot.
January 8th, 2021
Intriguing indeed! Yes, I know what you mean about sending things back. Lately, I have more often opted to give away to someone else or to charity an item that didn't fit or wasn't as I wanted it to be. Easier than trying to send it back!

Hopefully it not a plastic product, so it will degrade in time! Your probably right about the sheep.
January 8th, 2021
It does make a good storytelling image! Honestly I only shop with companies that have free shipping snd free returns.
January 8th, 2021
@sangwann wasn’t that clever! Thank you for the info.
January 8th, 2021
You deserve an award for keeping up with comments all these years!
Nice photo!

Briliant blue sky! Amused at all the returning goods comments! I have a dress sitting on our sofa in the lounge and must send it back on Monday.
