I ordered fish & chips from the Cartford tonight.
Always amazed at the way it’s packaged, came in a clever folding cardboard box with mushy peas for Harry & tartare sauce for me.
Three pieces of beautiful cod, lovely crisp chips & a slice of lemon.
Enough left for me tomorrow night. £11 each! Cant be bad!
Three good things:
1. I watched The Dig this afternoon. Enjoyed it though it’s a bit slow!
2. No need to go anywhere today so I didn’t!
3. Chatting to @judithg on messenger this evening!
I’m a good thing!! That looks delish!! Alba and I walked past somewhere smelling of fish and chips today - not for collection though (& not a chippy!) - I nearly broke in!
Yummy! We always used to have fish on Fridays when I was growing up. Something to do with Jesus as he died on a friday I think but we don't practice it now!
@lyndamcg Me too Lynda....I used to feel guilty if I ate meat on a Friday but never think of it now although strangely Friday night is usually considered a fish night everywhere even now.
@maggiemae Your fish & chips in NZ are fab maggie! In paper like they should be & I like that they are all in together however many people to eat them.
@judithg Yes you were a GT tonight!
Our fish & chip shop in the village is open for takeaway still. Stand outside of the shop to,order, get a number & wait to be shouted at the other side. They are busy!
There is something about the smell of fish and chips, though I don't eat it these days. Recently became allergic to fish, which is annoying me a lot!! But you can't beat beautiful chips........want to scratch'n'sniff the screen!
