Roof space by happypat

Roof space

The bungalow is coming on so well. The extension part is getting some roof trusses & we can get an idea of the size it will be at the end.
Much smaller than our old farmhouse of course but so much more suitable for our time of life!
Level open plan living with wet room & space for wheel chairs if necessary.

Three good things:
1. On the way back from Beacon Fell with Connie a hare crossed the road in front if me...lolloping along with its long hind legs. Also hedgehog scuttling along the side of the road with surprisingly long legs.
2. A new pair of trainers for walking, cheap & entirely suitable delivered in record time by Amazon! No wonder they are so popular! Sadly not so good for the High Street....I feel guilty!
3. I had a look at a friends kitchen this morning....lots of good ideas....always love having a good nosy! 🤣🤣
Loving watching your renovations unfold. A hare! Wonderful creatures, how thrilling.
Hight St v Amazon..... it is hard, isn’t it? My High St does not have much variety in it these days - coffee shops everywhere! So I do resort to online purchases more.

I am impressed by your forward planning. I would like to have seen the hare!

It’s certainly coming on nicely for you

All moving along nicely.. Smart idea to 'future proof' at this stage..
Hares are a bit silly I have found just run along in front rather than ducking off to the side..🦔🐇

So interesting seeing your renovations unfold. Sounds like solid plans! How w to see a hare - I love them but unfortunately we don’t seem to have them in this part of the country.

Looking good Pat. You must be pleased with the progress

@casablanca I did try in our little high street but the trainers were so expensive & I only wanted them for everyday stuff...the new ones where just navy £30 ones but very comfy!

@quietpurplehaze @julzmaioro @pamknowler

The hare surprised me, I haven’t seen one in a while. On a very quiet country road, it was gone before I had chance to get my camera out. We used to see them all the time in the fields but not so much now.

@Dawn @busylady Yes we are pleased at the speed it’s going up....the weather helps if course!

@fueast I asked where he got them thinking somewhere on holiday but they are proper builders glasses apparently., bought them at builders merchants!

Really interesting to see the progress. Single storey house is definitely a good idea. We thought ahead when we moved here from Melbourne and bought a single storey house, open plan, level etc.

All that new timber - it will really be like a brand new house when finished. You bought trainers from Amazon - I thought they would take weeks to be delivered!

I'm so excited for you that all seems to be going splendidly with the build and renovations! The new addition looks incredibly sturdy. Can't wait to see it all finished!

Very exciting progress!

That is great

Oh, how I wish my dad had done what you are doing. We are totally overwhelmed by the amount of 'stuff' in his house, sheds, garden and garage. However difficult, a downsizing and clearing out of 'stuff' is so much better done ahead of the game, if you can time it well. We have vowed not to leave our kids with a Herculean clear out of any house of ours. Plus, it's an exciting project for you both, and you're going to have a wonderful new house to enjoy. Nice capture of the ongoing work.

How wonderful that you’re going to have a very well built new house soon! Very smart to plan ahead. A wheel chair would be impossible to maneuver in our small house!

@jamibann Thank you Issi. If we could have done anything different i would say we should have done it five years ago. A very difficult decision to make but once done & you stay within your own community, it’s a relief. Just in the nick of time too I’m thinking as Harry has a very sore back & hip so likely to need a new hip ASAP.
Good luck with the sorting if things....you will uncover memories I expect but it’s hard work. Hope your dad has settled in well & happy enough.....it’s hard getting old!

Work getting on at a fast pace, it seems. You

Do you need me to come and check it out Pat, I can jump up and down on the trusses to make sure they are secure. No charge.
April 27th, 2021
Great progress
April 27th, 2021
@ladymagpie Thanks Heather...there’s quite a climb to get up there so better not! 🤣🤣
April 27th, 2021
Can't wait to see the end product - seems like the work is getting done quickly!
April 27th, 2021
It’s very exciting.
