I hadn’t taken a photo today & was going to skip todays then I saw @casablanca photo & it reminded me I hadn’t posted this one.
When we were choosing the colour of our front door I almost went for the dark grey of the windows but I always had in mind Christmas time.
We went for a round ring door knocker & this pale grey door in the end.
We like it but not too keen on the actual door.
It’s composite & when you close it feels quite flimsy…I always feel if someone put their shoulder to it they would come crashing in. I was assured it was very burglar proof & safe. The key itself is very thick & strong.
Of course doesn’t help when you are used to proper old wood farmhouse doors.
we had a new front and back doors recently , there are two types of composite, hardwood and softwood, the softwood has "egg box" filling (nice insulation, but not too good for security or longevity)
@phil_howcroft Not sure what ours are but have been assured they are very secure so hoping that’s true. We weren’t told about the different types of door!!! It was expensive enough to be Fort Knox!!!
It looks nice Pat
I love the warmth of the oak panelling etc too. Warm and welcoming pretty much sums you up Pat!! 💛💛
