Cathy took me to see Jack in Manchester today.
We visited his house share in Didsbury, had a walk round the area & looked at all the lovely houses.
Called in for a drink at a really lovely place which had a long wall covered with the lovely clematis you can see behind Cathy & Jack.
The clematis is called Fragrant Virgins Bower….I’m going to buy one!
Took the Metro into the centre of the city….a new experience for me as it was so automated just paying on my iPhone.
A really lovely treat for Mothers Day.
Three good things:
1. Being driven into a part of Manchester I don’t know….you have to have your whits about you on the roads.
2. Whitebait for lunch.
3. Seeing the life in a city centre, so changed from my day….it’s all about the restaurant & eating & drinking scene. It was a Saturday if course! Very interesting!
Must remember the hour goes forward tonight! Lighter nights!
Nice to have a catch up with Jack..
Are you whitetail the same as ours.. river caught and very tiny and cooked up in fritters eyes and all.. a local delicacy here.. only caught in winter for a few weeks..
@julzmaioro Yes exactly the same Julz…eyes in & nice & crispy. No idea where ours come from though…I’ve seen those two chefs in NZ catching whitebait. Forgot what that programme is called now.
Lovely shot of Cathy and Jack. I lived in Manchester for 17 years and I suspect it has changed since then. It was a fabulous place to live during the Swinging Sixties.
