A very large tank of these expensive fish took my eye today.
Had a little trip out to a tree growing place this morning. Looking for a certain Acer, loads of trees but all far too expensive. The ones we have seen are either too small or too large, we want one in the middle range.
Reminded me of Goldilocks & the porridge when I wrote that! 🤣
Three good things:
1. Last time we were looking at these fish we had our youngest son & youngest grandson with us visiting from NZ 2017, nice to remember!
2. Cheese & onion toastie at the local cafe afterwards.
3. I hardly moved off the sofa yesterday but slept all night….very strange!
@carole_sandford Got to my line first.. You will find what you want. They look like koi carp.. They gave got into our drains and rivers here and are a bit if a problem and grow huge..
It’s amazing how expensive acers are….so many different sorts too…it’s a bit of a hunt plus it’s getting late to be planting trees…Harry is good at watering though.
I have two acres trees in our garden. Both now 16 years old..... grown from sticks from Morrisons for a couple of quid, staggered by the prices of trees!!
Lovely Koi - I used to have some in my pond , till the heron decided to help himself for breakfast !! - Too expensive now to replenish the pond As for prices of of trees and bushes in the Nurseries --- so expensive these days , but to start from cuttings and saplings too time consuming at our age !
@beryl exactly Beryl. We want to see some idea what they will look like grown….the wood at the bottom is filling up nicely but we need one more to finish it! The fish were so pricy! A big meal for a heron!
They seeem to be a bit crowded, maybe just vying for attention, or perhaps waiting for dinner! Hope you find your tree. Have you looked at prices online, although I know it's not the same?.
The fish owners would know what they are doing but looks to me like this tank is overcrowded. They are desperate for oxygen perhaps - hence the bubble - well caught!
@maggiemae No it’s a massive tank maggie, there is a place next to it that dispenses food for £1 bag….they were waiting for us to feed them….we didn’t! Kids love to though.
Love the bubbles theses fish are making. Nice shot.
