One of the many amazing small trees or large shrubs seen in our open garden afternoon.
This was an amazing specimen….the owner who incidentally bought the house where I spent the years from 10 until 20….we had a little chat! Anyway she told us the name but I have forgotten. It was impressive as you can see.
Three good things:
1. We have had rain today on & off but hopefully wasn’t enough to spoil the many street parties taking place today.
2. A wonderful pageant on The Mall this afternoon, we watched it all.
3. The good Samaritans who organise jubilee parties for the elderly. It could be very lonely if you’ve no one to celebrate & watch & comment on events on the TV
@julzmaioro quite big…an inch & a half long I’m guessing. When Cathy looks at this photo she might write the name here! She is on holiday so might have better things to do but you never know!
What a gorgeous plant. It must feel strange visiting a house where you used to live.
Never mind Julia, you can't win them all. ha ha @julzmaioro You always do a grand job identifying flowers for me.
@beryl That’s the name she told us Beryl but also said the Latin name too as @boxplayer says….thank you all for @maggiemae your investigations & racking if brains! It’s rather splendid!
It has been quite a celebration..
