In Killarney the young girls were queueing up to have their hair braided by this girl. They took a basket & picked the colours they wanted out if the plastic container.
It was quite fascinating watching & of course when finished they thought they were the bees knees!
Back to school on the Monday so I expect it all had to be undone!
Three good things!
1. Cathy, Garth & Connie came & spent quite a bit of the day with us. We had lots to catch up on!
2. Nice cakes from the village bakery.
3. Invited out for a meal after the Westmoreland show next week.
I remember having long hair at primary school. 2 mischievous boys sat behind me…and picked away at undoing the careful work…to vex me. They were lads and l wanted my hair to last all day. Fat chance!
Looks like a slow process.
When my daughter was about 7 she decided to put beads in her own hair. She really didn't know what she was doing and the beads kept falling out so she put a knot in the bottom of her hair and that worked but we had to cut her hair to get the beads off ha ha
Oh I know the girls love this! It reminds me of my niece coming home from Jamaica with beads woven into braids of her hair. I thought my sister was going to die, she couldn’t get the beads out. Fun memory.
