Birthday rose by happypat

Birthday rose

This is the second flowering of my beautiful birthday rose.
Variety called Sceptered Isle by David Austin, it’s a shrub rose & it’s full of buds.
I will cut it back after this flowering.

Three good things:
1. A nice evening walk after our meal.
2. The B&B has gone home after an enjoyable holiday.
3. I have finished my book. Enjoyable but I was ready for the end, on to something a bit shorter & lighter.
The Evening & The Morning by Ken Follett.
That is a very beautiful Rose....like a Peony.

A very full bloom - the petals will fall and will retain their colour. Lovely picture!

it is a real beauty for sure Pat, I think we have a similar one, although I don't note the names, I will see if the name tag is still on the stem !

That is a beautiful rose - a very full blossom. I read the Pillars of the Earth many years ago and loved it but haven't read any more by Ken Follett. I must try another.

What a beautiful rose. It looks like it might have a wonderful perfume?

@dkbarnett The one I just read is the prequel to Pillars of the Earth Delwyn …I enjoyed it, bit gruesome & earthy but you expect that in the 900’s!
