A very nice cafe, good Pizza place & the Architect’s .
Three good things:
1. We have Connie overnight.
2. A long talk to number 2 son in NZ.
3. I have started reading Watership Down again. A lovely book I read years & years ago. I saw it in the bookcase & thought Ahh!
I am ennoying the photos of your little village. I fveel as though I am walking around with you.
Are the rooftops slate? The shop Mum had when I was a child had a slate roof. I think it was very popular back then.
I remember once after strong winds slates were blown down and I heard Mum on the phone saying. 'Can you help I have a slate missing' ha ha. You probably have to be a Northerner to appreciate that.
@onewing Yes I do appreciate that but I haven’t heard it for a bit!! 🤣. All the house have slate roofs round here although there are a very few thatched ones too.
Thank you all, the cafe has been taken over by Leonie the butcher lady & it’s going through a bit of a change….they haven’t just got it yet! We had soup in there on Wednesday & it wasn’t hot enough fir my liking plus ordinary bread instead of warm roll…plenty of butter though.
You seem to have quite a few amenities. We used to have a pub & a post office/ shop, but not any more. The village hall is used a lot for events, but that’s all we have now.
