Our own Niagara Falls

Chapter 3: put your camera on Shutter Priority mode.
Top photo: 1,3 , F20, iso 200
Bottom one: 500 , F5,5, iso 1600
Camera was hand held in both shots, next time I should use a tripod for the long exposure.
playing with shutter speeds is always fun

Lovely shots, pity I cannot use your settings with my bridge camera. I see you are doing AYWMC, hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

They are both great images, hand held and all.

'should have used a tripod' was my mantra throughout the aywmc course!! I don't know why I dislike using it so much out of the house!

Wonderful contrasts ibetween the shot!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Tripods are heavy and awkward to take on a walk. I’ve bought a monopod, in a walkingstick, but always forget to bring it and I also have a small one which I also mostly forget........have to tie a knot in my handkerchief to remember taking one ;)

@runner365 Hi Claes, you can follow Emma Davies https://ayearwithmycamera.com/
And sign up for her emails, they are free of charge. In those emails she explains weekly a subject. I bought her books and work them through on my own. 365 is a great forum to get feedback. I like your interest in my project, we can learn a lot from each other:)

@jacqbb already found and bookmarked it, I will just give it a thought before joining - no reason to join unless I'm pretty sure I can find the time.
I don't collect regrets at the moment 😏

@runner365 great idea, I got her emails in 2019 and hadn’t enough time to participate at that time.

Lovely to see the comparison.

Perfect
One of my first lessons in understanding shutter speed was doing this exercise

@ninaganci I’m looking forward to the rest of exercises.

I started AYWMC in April 2019 - didn't manage to complete all the lessons and keep meaning to go back and do a rerun. It is such an excellent course and I really enjoyed the lessons I did complete - it has made such a difference to how I take photos now. The shutter speed and aperture lessons were a real eye-opener for me. Enjoy! :)
